Ambassador Class Variations

Such things aren't really in the Trek design pallet. More Star Wars. Star Trek is supposed to be smooth because all the parts are supposed to be serviced internally.
I also prefer the smoother uniform hull coloring of TOS Enterprise. The Aztecing doesn't really seem necessary IMO. A more modern Automobile / Airliner look with a uniform paint job would be nice.

An aggressive surface might make for a Terran Empire version.

The artist might make a smoother version.

The secondary hull actually has a good teardrop shape.

Does anyone know if Tobias Richter/Andrew Probert's 3D model of the Ambassador class is available for purchase/download? If so, where can this be found?

I don't think Richter ever made a practice of releasing his models to the community. The only one I ever found was his model of the Kelvin, and the version I had was a conversion.

It's possible someone else has made a model of the Probert concept and released it publicly. Or you can extract the model from Star Trek Online, but I couldn't tell you how to accomplish that specifically, I just know that it's possible.

Back in the day, you could easily extract ship models from the old Activision and Taldren games (the Armadas, SF & Klingon Academy, Starfleet Command, etc.) They were super low-poly, but they were stand-alone 3DS files (to my recollection) and could be imported pretty much anywhere. This site has a bunch of them.

Don't know about the new stuff, though, like STO. Should be easy enough to dig through to find the files, but in this day and age of more highly-protected intellectual property, I suspect they might likely be encrypted somehow and not easily extracted. Just a guess. I have no way of knowing for sure - I only play STO on XBox. :)
