Century class rebuild

Mando

a month ago i set out to make a modernised version of the century class originally designed by DJ Curtis so many years ago. the idea was to bring it in line with the post sovereign and now canon odyssey aesthetic, as well as add in some new bits and remove some old bits. for now its untextured but i plan to eventually fully texture it.

as you can probably tell its immensely more high poly than the bridge commander model, partly because i designed it with 3d printing in mind but mostly because i dont intend to make it a game mesh and so dont need to worry about polycount. the pylon impulse decks are gone , partly personal choice, i didnt really feel like it gelled with the rest of the design, in their place i modelled in engines inset into the back of the pylons as it is on the odyssey. the secondary hull is more distinct in its separation from the saucer/pylons superstructure and has a defined rear, whereas on the bridge commander mesh the deflector area and back curve melds into the underside of the saucer. otherwise its pretty much a huge visual update to the original and i tried to keep the spirit of it intact

meant to add this in but got trigger happy, if youd like to see how it looks in 3d ive uploaded it to sketchfab so it can be seen in 3d. im not the best with renders

im gonna work on the easy illuminated components initially, itll be slow going overall because ill be doing this in my spare time but i think ive got the torpedo launchers and chiller grills pretty solid, the bussards for now are just a sovereign texture which i intend to change at some point, but it does work. im playing around with the idea of doing sovereign style windows for the bussard glow rather than the existing designs large area
