Thanks!

Let me start by singing the praises of Netflix. Streaming TV shows and movies to my Blu-Ray and laptop...we truly live in Golden Times.

30 Rock was one of those shows that I thought I would probably like, but never watched. I don't have a good reason why, I just didn't. Now, with the miracle of Netflix, I have watched the first three seasons over the past month.

I absolutely love this show. It is like crack to me now. Liz Lemon? I want to marry her. Seriously. She is a magnificent beast. Wherever she is...."I want to go to there."

Alec Baldwin may be the most perfectly cast character since Frasier. He is a delight as Jack Donaghy. His little conservative rants are hilarious. Of course they had to give him a heart (I guess). His mom is great. His relationship with Kenneth is great too.

Speaking of Kenneth, well...he's just wonderful. Good ol' Georgia boy.

Tracy, and his posse Grizz and Dot Com...I'm just glad the Black Crusaders didn't get to them.

And I just love all the high powered cameos. There are tons of stars in this show.

So far through 3 seasons, a Solid "A". I guess it's just my kind of humor.

On to Season 4!!

PS: SUCK IT, MONKEYS!!!!

ETA: I can't believe I almost forgot: Dr. Spaceman. He cracks me up every time he's onscreen. "That's the problem: we have no way of knowing where the human heart really is!"

Yeah, I blew through the first 3 seasons on Netflix as well. Season 3 wasn't quite as laugh-out-loud funny as the previous two, but it was still great. I also enjoyed the direction Season 4 took the show.

It's hard for me to keep up with shows as they're airing, so I've only seen a couple episodes of Season 5. Can't wait for it to come out on Netflix.

"After all, what is a problem but an opportunity disguised as a stripper having a seizure on your boat?"

Great start to Season 4. I just finished the one where Liz is trying to get the upstairs apartment away from the cop.

The only thing I will say about 30 Rock at this point (Love the show, but I think I like Parks and Recreation better) is that it's ruined Alec Baldwin as a dramatic actor for me. I see some of his old movies, and it's just not the same anymore because he's such a born comedian. He's the show's best character and Jack and Liz have great chemistry together.

Anyone else notice a resemblance between Jane Krakowski and Jack McBreyer? Be interesting if Kenneth and Jenna turned out to be cousins or siblings or both. ;)

that would be awesome and there both screwed up emotionally. so yeah I can see that.

^ Wow! I've never seen that show (although I'd heard good things and adore Alec Baldwin), but that clip is hilarious! I need to watch this show!

I usually miss good shows and have to play DVD catch-up later (because I assume everything is crap till I hear different), but somehow I was on to 30 Rock from day one. It's surely the best sitcom going with the possible exception of "Curb." It rewards repeat viewings but never gets gimmicky. I'm a big fan of Dr.Spaceman, but I like how they've used him with restraint, it keeps his stuff from getting old. Dean Winters is always fun when he pops up, too. It's also been nice that they use "older generation" guest stars like Buck Henry, Alan Alda, Ken Howard, Stuart Margolin to name a few.

I have to admit, the past season (and maybe the one before) dropped a little in quality for me by making Liz too much of a brittle space case and Jack a little too looney and secretly neurotic. I liked it better when she was the nerdy Mary Tyler Moore and he was the right wing Lou Grant in an entire studio of Ted Baxters.

I love it, and just like Arrested Development you almost have to watch the episodes twice to catch all the jokes.

Did not like this last season as much, but it's still one of the funniest things on TV. For me, only Parks & Recreation is better.

A favourite Tracy moment

Jack: Let me ask you a question, Kenneth. If Mr. Bright here told you to vote Republican, would you do it?
Kenneth: Oh, uh, no, sir. I don't vote Republican or Democrat. Choosing is a sin, so I always just write in the Lord's name!
Jack: That's Republican. We count those.

The best thing about this show, to me, is that they never tried to develop a Jack/Liz romance. It would have been a very obvious thing to try, and they never even attempted it. Good for them.

Liz Lemon: I saw a few good alternative comics in San Francisco.
Jack Donaghy: San Francisco? I asked you to find an actor from middle America, a real person. You're not going to find him in The People's Gaypublic of Drugifornia.

Jack Donaghy: We'll trick those racecar-loving wide loads into watching your lefty, homoerotic propaganda hour yet.
