Do you guys think that picket lines will be a problem for the stage filming?

It's impossible to say right now.

I don´t live in USA, so what does Southern California contains? Forests, deserts, mountains, farms, desolated areas?

I'd say probably not; worse they could do is yell, but with sound insulation these days you could stage a re-enactment of the Battle of Gettysburg and not hear it inside.

Vasquez rock would be way cool, but I'm hoping for 'location shoots' at places we have never seen in Trek.

The problems created by strikers and picket lines are not primarily this kind of disruption, but the sympathy and often solidarity shown by people working on the productions.
There are actors, producers and other creative professionals choosing to honor the picket lines today, forcing an early suspension of production on a number of TV shows. It's impossible to say right now what turns the work stoppage will take over the next three months, regardless of anyone's stated intentions today.
We're quite proud here of our geographical diversity. We like to brag that you can drive from a snowy moutaintop to a sun-drenched seashore in a couple of hours. Baywatch was filmed on SoCal beaches, M*A*S*H was filmed just a few miles away in the Santa Monica mountains. We've also got high and low deserts and everything else you can think of. Imported critters and plant life from around the world can always find a happy home somewhere between Ventura and the Mexican border. Starfleet Academy is a water treatment plant in Van Vuys. Cestus III, where Kirk fought the Gorn, is the aforementioned Vasquez Rocks. Putting the movie industry here was a pick from heaven.Starship Polaris said:

Rat Boy said: This is, after Indiana Jones, Paramount's biggest production and if the WGA wants to have an impact against the studio, grinding this cash cow to a halt would be the biggest coup for the union.

We need pictures from the set, please.
The sets have a little more construction ahead of them, assuming THOSE unions don't decide to honor the WGA strike.Procutus said:

As much as I agree, I think it's going to be a spell before we see anything.
Then again, I could be wrong and there could be pix online by this weekend!

Good news, but it looks like I'm soon going to have to stop paying attention to Trek movie news. I hate spoilers!I wanted to know what actors were going to be in the cast, but besides that I want to way to see it in the theaters!!

The writers' guild can't stop anything. The only thing preventing the directors, producers and other staff from writing is that they don't want other unions to walk out.
