I think it would have been better if season 1 had not happened.....
Without Season 1, we wouldn't be here today.

Sometimes he replies, sometimes he does not, but I guess that he is a very busy man.
Bright hopeful, optimistic, humanist Star Trek, where the human characters all get along and work together to solve problems.
Captained by the respected Jean Luc Picard, a wise, cultured, thoughtful, accomplished diplomat - who would rather solve problems with words than with weapons.
Sod it! that's boring. Lets have a dark, gloomy, nihilistic and foreboding show where the cast chafe against one another.
The hard part was softening Sir Pat and convincing him to do Star Trek: Picard!Without Season 1, we wouldn't be here today.
The same JLP who blasted his way through First Contact?![]()
Picard himself doesn't seem very action-y during the first two seasons of PIC. Other characters yes, but not him. Though I'll admit that has more to do with him being in his 90s. During the first season, in particular, he's frail, still mopey about Data's death, and feels alienated from Starfleet. Not to mention he was suffering from a terminal illness. He works his way through all of that over the course of PIC Season 1, and that's not the same as the Rambo Picard from the TNG Movies. One of the main themes in FC is that Picard going all Rambo is out of character for him and that he needed to set aside his emotional scars from being assimilated in order to make rational decisions again. It's unfortunate that future productions (and some fans, apparently) took the wrong meaning from it.
That one doesn't just get over emotional scars? Also, that he has had further scaring due to other emotional difficulties? One of the main themes in FC is that Picard going all Rambo is out of character for him and that he needed to set aside his emotional scars from being assimilated in order to make rational decisions again. For those concerned about the lighting...
But surely he must have tea breaks? Also, Matalas should be working on the new Star Trek spin-off by now never mind this Witch Mountain. Unless ‘Witch Mountain’ is the new Star Trek series production code name? He's working on Witch Mountain.
Do you have a Sony or LG? Also, only dry cloths cleaning the screen and be careful of screen burn in...Thank you for all the information and specifications. I will freely admit that our new-fangled OLED TV is too high-tech for me to understand. Getting it out of its packaging, I almost stopped breathing from the nerve-wracking “exhale too loudly and it breaks” instructions.
What authority do you have that you can say what someone should or should not be doing? Also, Matalas should be working on the new Star Trek spin-off by now never mind this Witch Mountain.
NoUnless ‘Witch Mountain’ is the new Star Trek series production code name?
As far as I can tell, he's only a writer on Witch Mountain. He's working on Witch Mountain.
Starting with TWOKVery much agreed. It looked like any generic scifi action movie which is what ST has become at the theater anyway.
They've been playing up the action in trailers since TMPThe 'hopeful' part that I can think of is that they showed this during an NFL football game so they have to play up to the action given the audience, you know?
Haha somewhat guilty... But, SNW to me is a weird mashup of Discovery, The Orville, and TOS, taking the flaws of those three instead of the strengths. SNW really hits the uncanny valley of it so not being in continuity with all the classic stuff. Whereas I actually more or less liked Discovery season 1 once I accepted it's a parallel universe reboot and should be informed by canon but not bound by or bounding on the rest of it. The Orville is basically parallel universe Star Trek where the tone is the same but the aliens are all different.People should note a trend. This is what I've observed over the last 15 years from various reactions...
Kelvin Films --> "That's not Star Trek!"
Discovery --> "What have they done to Star Trek?!"
Picard --> "What have they done to MY Star Trek?!"
Strange New Worlds --> "That's Star Trek!"
There's been a gradual trend towards shifting back to you getting your way. When PIC Season 3 is done, you'll get more Star Trek that's done your way. So much of it that you'll eventually get sick of it again, just like you did last time during the Berman Era.
When did Star Trek ever have any sort of humour like Orville has?where the tone is the same
I meant writing wise, so that the next Trek series is ready for fall 2024. I was not bossing him about or ordering him to do something, I promise. I am sorry if it came across that way but there is definitely a lot of pre production work that needs to be done. What authority do you have that you can say what someone should or should not be doing?
