I got to go with "Congo" While it's cool that Bruce Campbell is in for the first 5 minutes the rest of he movie reeeks. The monkey wasn't very intresting and the mean mean monkeys weren't very thretening.

It's been a while since I've seen them but I remembered being vaguely disturbed by those Clint Eastwood movies he made with the Orangutan.

Beach Blanket Monkey with Annette Funicello was pretty bad, despite the trampoline sequence.

Because I am a nitpicker I would like to point out that you have all named ape movies not monkey movies.

There was a monkey in one of the Indiana Jones movies. It ate the poisoned dates.

But that was a good movie as well.

Did you see Tony Danza, Danny DiVito & 3 orangs in Going Ape?

There was also Matt LeBlanc and a baseball playing chimp in Ed. This one gave us the classic line "I'm gonna spank that monkey!"

Aside from the original King Kong and the original Planet of the Apes, I don't think I've ever seen a monkey movie I've liked.

I loved Monkey Trouble.

Just about any movie starring a chimpanzee dressed as an astronaut. This does not include movies starring human beings dressed as chimpanzees dresses as astronauts.

How about Monkeybone?

That has to be up there somewhere. It was awful!

I saw this dumb thing that didn't make any sense - the monkeys were cool, but they were only in it for like ten minutes at the beginning. This monkey throws a bone in the air and then the rest of the movie is about spaceships that look like Star Wars but the script was really thrown together. And they never told you what happened to the monkeys. It's a big plot hole. That's just lazy writing.
