why Adult Swim? WHY?!

Cripes...they're having terrible luck finding action shows that hit big, and thanks to that, the comedies are muscling in. Badly produced comedies at that. Where's Tenchi Muyo when you need him?
Did they ever run Martian Successor Nadesico? I recall the network running 1 episode during a Giant Robot Week special, but I don't remember if the series ever got an actual run...

no, we haven't seen Nadesico on [AS], and WHERE IS tenchi muyo? i know Pioneer is now Geneon but that shouldn't have messed with the rights, should it?

well, I was thinking of buying a DVR anyways due to my schedule at the moment. But seriously, screw adult swim. Doing this last minute and with no warning what-so-ever is one of the most jerkass moves they have made yet.

Yes, f****** AS does it again. This action gets my seal of disapproval. :brickwall:

TV rights and series rights are different things and negotiated seperately. Cartoon Network/AS let the rights to things like:

Gundam Wing
Tenchi Muyo
Tenchi Universe
Tenchi in Tokyo
Outlaw Star
Blue Gender
Witch Hunter Robin
Martian Successor Nadesico (only aired 1 or 2 episodes)
Dai Guard (Same as above)
Mobile Fighter G Gundam
Mobile Suit Gundam
Gundam 08th MS Team
Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket
Gundam 0083: Starsust Memory
Kakaider
Pilot Canidate
Yu Yu Hakusho
Neon Genesis Evangellion

...expire long ago. :(

If they wanted and depending on if they were airing on other networks combined with the terms of the series' contracts (it's complicated sometimes) but those ships have long since sailed I think.

About all they still have is

Bleach
Blood+
Code Geass
Code Geass: R2 (Yet to air)
Cowboy Bebop
Death Note
Fullmetal Alchemist
FLCL
Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex
Inu Yasha
Moribito: Guardian of the Spirit

I'm not sure whether they lost, Samurai Champloo, or Eureka 7.

CN did air Nadesico briefly for their Giant Robot Week on Toonami back in 03. Has Geass finished its run? I was under the impression that Geass was doing well despite the crappy timeslot and even outperformed certain shonen series CN also airs yet another reason to support anime on Sci-Fi channel.

Indeed, AS also seems to have lost the Gundam Franchise as Sci-Fi Channel snagged Gundam 00 somehow. It'll start airing in a month or two.

^ CN more like refused it since they canned Gundam 0079 shortly before it finished its first run, moved Gundam SEED to the 5am deathslot, and refused to air Gundam Zeta based on MSG's poor performance. It is no wonder Bandai wanted another network to air Gunam 00.

Any way you look at it 00 is awesome I'm glad it's on a network that will treat it better.

HOW DO I GET MY ORANGE FIX NOW!?! :klingon:

Well Code Geass is available on the Adult Swim Fix, which offers free and legal streaming episodes.

You also get the new episodes a whole day earlier on Fridays instead of having to wait until late Saturday Night or Sunday morning.

Once again, Adult Swim shows us how awesome they are at scheduling. How can you go wrong with Tim and Eric + Fat Guy Stuck in Internet? Now, hand me that tab of acid, Xavier's on. I need it in order to to find it funny.

They let the NGE rights lapse, but they do still have FLCL.

I see 12oz Mouse is back that has to be the worst series AS has ever aired hands down. To think that we live in a world where garbage like that is treated better than classic anime is infuriating.

why did they even bother getting CG R2 if they're going to bury it in the grave shift slot!?:scream:

this may be my only other option now even though i hate watching tv/movies on computer screens. Fortunately I just now got broadband Internet hooked up. I could also just rent the dvds from Netflix but Id have to wait even longer, only the first 10 episodes have been released so far.

and I was enjoying Moributo too.:(
