What you'd like included

I want to see some weird as hell sci-fi stories straight out of Fringe. Also an Aussie or a Kiwi. I don't care if they're Anglo, Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander, Maori, Asian, or even Tasmanian, or even if it's just a one scene speaking red shirt, who then gets vaporised by some energy cloud monster five seconds later. I just want to hear the Aussie or Kiwi accent in Trek.

Sorry. Late to the party.
Breasts need not be large to be wonderful. Voyager and Enterprise both taught me that it takes more than T&A to sell a show.

In DSC, I wanna see this:

^ That ship looks really cool. Where did you find it?

ETA: Oh and then there's that whole thing about soup. "Soup," "sop," and "supper" all have the same etymology (more or less): essentially a meal where one dipped bread in a broth.

Souper. :techman:

And here's what I'd like included:

- Vaughn Armstrong. He'll turn up eventually, so might as well make it a good role for him.

- However more advanced the Discovery looks, have somebody have a line like "Wow, I love these Mark III bridges! Rest of the fleet's still stuck on the Mark I".

- Starfleet Marines

- The Farragut disaster (or its aftermath)

- Have at least some characters with the classic TOS uniforms

I want a mystery!
What I mean by that is I would like is a mysterious alien aggressor that takes an entire season to reveal themselves, with hints here and there. Rumors of attacks, sightings, etc, that aren't tied together, initially. Discovery is sent to investigate a series of mysterious events, and takes a whole season to tie together that they are related, and maybe another season to find out what they want. I am think like what they "could have" done with the Borg in TNG, a la The Neutral Zone. Or how the Shadows were introduced and slowly revealed in Babylon 5, or the mysteriousness of the Minbari.

Paging Temuera Morrison...

Two questions:
1. What in blue blazes is that?
2. Where do I sign up to serve aboard her?

What I really, really, really want to see is for this show to truly feel like a TOS prequel but on a better budget. I want the bridge to look like the same design aesthetic as the TOS Enterprise, but maybe a different make/model. I also want things like colored food cubes and giant hairdos on the women (maybe on the men too?) I want this show to admit that what we saw of that universe back in 1966-1969 was right, but was simply missing a lot of details and Discovery should be filling in those details.

And I absolutely want to see females in the command track, that conversation between Kirk and Janice Lester was just that: between them.

No Majel Barrett voices.

Last I heard, the computer voice was still going to be Majel's. Just a "virtual Majel" derived from samples of all the computer lines she's spoken over the years, which apparently can be used to make the computer say anything they want it to, as Majel, and it would be indistinguishable from "reality".

Note that this isn't going to be old Majel lines spliced together. They just use the sound of her voice so that they can make a, well, NEW Majel who can say literally any line they want.

Well, the fact that we already have SMG playing the first officer would seem to be proof of that. If women can be XO's, then logically they must be able to be captains as well. Hell, we've known that since "The Cage".

And of course there's Michelle Yeoh to consider as well. Georgiou is a captain, isn't she? ;)

So Lester's line has been confirmed once and for all to be the rantings of a psycho, as we all knew it was.

This would be interesting to me, and since a voice, probably not creepy.

You know, plus Captain Hernandez in ENT.

Buffy?!?! oh that's right, I'm never going to get used to that acronym being repurposed...

I have become resigned to the notion that a new series is never going to be exactly what I would've wanted. That might be why I haven't been waiting with bated breath for this one. So with that in mind I hope the show has a solid idea of what it wants to be and is successful in executing that. Some of the news about the production makes me worry on that front but I have not been following this very closely really. If it has at least a smidgen of idealism in it somewhere it wouldn't be unwelcome.

I would like whatever form the series takes to be a fresh one, preferably something that doesn't look like it could be seamlessly inserted into the last four series. It shouldn't be too beholden to what's come before at least in terms of execution and presentation.
