What would a fourth season have looked like?

Miramanee

Lieutenant
Newbie
I think we'd get alot of episodes like The Paradise Syndrome set outdoors to keep budget costs down and because of the focus on ecology in 1970 And maybe a Harry Mudd/Tribbles crossover

Shooting on location ended up being more expensive than stage work. You'll notice that season three only shot outside on one other episode, and only briefly in that case. A fourth season would have been largely stage bound.

what was the other episode?

My opinion, very much like a live action TAS but without all of the new alien designs and exotic backgrounds.

Some shows transitioned into a few TV movies. I would not have minded seeing John Collicos return in a TV movie of Kitumba.

I think you would have seen a descent into Irwin Allen level of cheapness.

As much as I'd love to think the alternative, that TOS S4 would be an upswing in quality from S3, truth is this is what I thought the moment I seen the thread title :D I think TOS was on a downwards trend. The budget wasn't likely to go up again after having been cut, so I reckon we'd have gotten even more shipbound episodes and probably lots of reuse of costumes from stock. I can totally imagine the cheapness becoming too much to ignore...

You mess with the bull, you get the horns.

You pelted her with rocks while the doctor that can do Vulcan heart repair surgery and re-implant brains couldn't fix some contusions and let her die?

Oh, help me! A fourth season might have brought us sequels to Spock's Brain, And The Children Shall Lead and Plato's Stepchildren. :ack:

Now you forced me to think. So Shower Curtain monster (Gorgan) convinces the Eymorgs to steal Parmen's Brain to run their society but it turns out the kironide does not only work on their own planet and Parmwn's Brain goes on a rampage strangling people with it's spinal cord. But Jim'll fix it, he shows Gorgan a mirror and seeing his reflection dies of embarrassment, he then convinces Philana of her "humanity" with lots of physical contact (say no more) which then allows her trick Parmen's brain back into his body with the help of the Android Norman and Sargon and Thalasa who offer to help the poor brainless Eymorgs.
Finally, @johnnybear is captured and the Platonians' new whatever Alexander was.

Like Kryton, she decided to self destruct before Spock could make her talk.

I'm wondering could the scripts produced for TAS be extended for 52 minutes for a hypothetical 4th season of TOS? Would the costumes get some alterations or would it be the same thing? I get the budget would be lower and could that have effected the featured cast like Nichelle Nichols and Walter Keonig?
