What mysteries of Star Trek would you like to see solved (and, if you want to say it, how would you solve them)?

Ther are many things in Star Trek that are not explained. Origin of Borg. Who the Jem;Hadar were before the Founders modified them. What is the origin of Q. Barash's species. Where did all these strtange entities from TOS came from It woul take a lot to list all of it. I ask you: what star Trek mystery would you liek to see solved. And, if you want, tell is how would you solve it (in as many details, or as less, as you want).

The origins of the Borg happened 100,000s of years ago, didn't involve humans in any way, and probably started when people began putting wi-fi chips in their brains. There is definitely an interesting story to tell there, but it'd be more Twilight Zone than Star Trek, and I honestly don't trust any writer to tackle the story without trying to overcomplicate it with time loops or whatever.

But I'd definitely like to find out what happened to Tom Riker.

An explanation how beaming can actually work.
You realize that literally no such thing is possible, unless someone actually invents a real-life working transporter, right? I'd suggest setting your sights a little lower, when it comes to the analysis and composition of works of fiction. ;)

He went back in time and created the Borg.

When did Romulans discover time travel and get involved in the time war?

What were the parasites from "Conspiracy" and are there any others out there?

What happened with the probe the solanogen-based lifeforms sent out?

I'd also like to know what happened to Tom Riker.

Picard season 3 ruined my idea (or did it?) but... I have a whole DS9 movie in mind that was inspired/homage to "The China Syndrome" that used Thomas Riker and Ro Laren as the sleeper agents who had spent time together in a Cardassian/Dominion prison during the war.

I think it would be interesting to learn more about how the Romulans separated from the Vulcans and how they rose to be what they are. Not saying a movie or a TV series or anything…maybe just an episode that deals with it.

I’d like to know what the Great Barrier is and the deal with that entity at the center of the galaxy.

What happened to the highly advanced “Machine Planet” that created V’Ger? It was only 300 years ago…so they should still be out there somewhere.

What happened to the ”Conspiracy “ parasites?

...do you mean "The Manchurian Candidate"? :p

The novels have addressed the origins of the Borg and the "Conspiracy" parasites is ways I found very satisfying. IIRC Tom Riker also shows back up, but I think I had more mixed feelings about that.

In any event, i prefer Borg origin stories that don't involve Vejur.

This was also addressed in the novelverse in a satisfying way, but I'd be open to a canonical story about how the entity at Sha Ka Ree got there in the first place, and similarly why the galactic barrier gives some people crazy ESP powers.
