Turtlenecks

I wouldn't mind seeing it but I think that SNW needs to look at the future of humanity rather than stuck in Trek's past.

They have two other shows currently set in the future; I think this is meant to be a more nostalgic one. Anyway, not saying I wouldn’t expect them to try to sex them up a bit, but, I think one can speculate that they will use the classic look as a starting point, possibly.

In the season 1 finale of Discovery, when Burnham is speaking at the Starfleet HQ in France, we see some officers wearing a uniform that doesn't match the Discovery uniforms or the Discoprise uniforms (which probably didn't exist yet). They were grayish-blue, a bit like how some of the uniforms in the Cage looked. Maybe those are the turtlenecks you are looking for?

These? Not bad.

Spoilers: they have the, I guess you could call an updated version of the uniforms from "The Cage" in the Short Trek "The Trouble With Edward". So there are Disco-Cage Uniforms out there, but it's been retconned that the Enterprise during the 2250s has Disco-TOS Uniforms.

When Spock is first assigned to the Enterprise in "Q&A", they still have Disco-TOS Uniforms. So that's probably the look they're going to have in SNW, whether they pick up where DSC S2 left off or go back to when Pike first took command.

Nothing wrong with a retcon.

Now, I love the Kelvin era uniforms because I think they reflect a good update to the TOS aesthetic in terms of cut, material and color. I would also love to see an expansion of the idea, rather than sticking with the DSC-TOS uniforms since that color and cut are not quite keeping with the turtlenecks of "The Cage."

They could introduce them as an alternative uniform which the crew occasionally wears.
We only have two episodes with the turtlenecks.
There is nothing that says we didn’t just catch them on casual Friday during The Cage and WNMHGB incidentally.

I hate the DIS TOS uniforms. They look uncomfortable to wear and the DIS-style offset black collars look silly to me. I'd rather the collars be more simplified and the same color as the tunics. I'd actually have the colors also be a bit more subdued (or at least the same shades as the Kelvin TOS uniforms).

I think I seen a behind the scenes thing on them making the Tos Disco uniforms... and scene a uniform on the table and it wasn't folded or anything.. it was standing up on its own! It looks Extreamly uncomfortable and hard.. If they do the series, I would hope they redo them for comfort of the crew.
as for uniforms.. it seems like it was in ST 2 with the Maroons.. where the officers wore the fancy uniforms, and the crew wore the "coveralls" as instanced in Trouble with Edward where the Captain was in the Colorful uniform and the rest were in the comfortable blues..

Yep, a high (color matched) collar uni, plus a no collar one.

Proper turtlenecks, along with "women on the bridge" are pretty much outdated 1960's era stuff and should be left in the past.

I'm 50/50. I like the Disco Enterprise uniforms and wouldn't have any problem with them being used on SNW. But if they were to introduce modernized version of The Cage uniforms, I think it would be one heck of a treat. They can say it was an effort to combine the two Starfleet uniform styles seen on DSC.
