Captain Pike stood out on the bridge of the Discovery. He had read the briefing on what the crew had been through with the last captain. He is ready for action after being sidelined from the Klingon War. He had styled his hair short following regulations. He knew this crew would be anxious about him after what happened with the last captain. He has to help them and gain their trust. He is always ready for a challenge.
Long, Unkempt
Christopher Pike hasn't looked in the mirror for months. Every time he looked at his reflection, all he could see was the crippled, broken man with horrifying scars all over his face. His gray hair had grown down to his back, and he had grown his beard to protect himself from the cold. It is not because he knew he could never grow a beard again. He will have to face his destiny one day, but not today.
Shorter, stylish
He had to cut his hair to regulation size and shave off his beard. He had it slightly longer than he always wanted to try it. His crew liked the way it looked. Even a man from 120 years in the future said that he was known for having great hair. He will enjoy this haircut as long as he can.
Short, doesn’t matter
His destiny happened as it should. He lost his voice, his independence, and even his face. But for some strange reason, he kept his hair. The medical staff has cut it short just for convenience's sake. It had to be short to avoid the chair's controls. They asked him if he liked it. He beeped yes because he didn't care.
Illusionish
He has a new body and lease on life thanks to Spock, Vina, and the Talosians. The Talosians have given him an illusion body that enables him to move freely. They are telepaths, so they can read his mind and know what he wants. Vina was by his side, making his new life more complete. His hair has been growing longer, not as fast as before, thanks to the radiation damage, but he can change it how he wants it. He has a planet to restore and a species to free from self-imposed cages. But he is always ready for a challenge.
