It makes more sense that the Augments unified a bunch of nations so that there are only five countries in Africa – North Africa, West Africa, Central Africa, East Africa, South Africa – that were each ruled by Augments.

It really depends on whether Augments will bend the Knee and swear loyalty to their former enemies like the Jaffa do. If Augment lieutenants and their human legions are flipping from side to side after the outcomes of complicated battles like a game of Othello that's one thing, but if Augments are inflexible and will not sincerely switch loyalty, then Augment soldiers, generals and kings will always have to be imprisoned or executed, which turns this land grab into Highlander.

Well, that suggests that the Augments have charisma on the level of Khan. Or are as dangerous as him.

And I get the sense that the majority don’t have Khan’s charisma. Nor are they as dangerous, even if they did engage in massacres as they ruled.

We see in ENT the dynamics of the Augments - the love triangle between Raakin, Persis and Malik, with Malik leading a mutiny against Raakin. And Malik later overpowering and killing Persis for freeing Arik Soong against his orders. And how the Augments exiled and abandoned Udar for being handicapped.

The smarter and stronger the Augment is, the less likely they would submit to the authority of another Augment who they viewed as inferior.

Basically, you have a bunch of Augments showing loyalty to whichever Augment, or human, is the 1) smartest 2) strongest 3) charismatic 4) most ruthless 5) possesses the most Augment abilities compared to others. According to the Augment value system, based on we've seen on our screens in Trek, so far.

So, even if the Augments of North Africa and South Africa advance and annex West Africa, Central Africa and East Africa, they could still get overthrown in a coup by one of the Augments belonging to West Africa, Central Africa or East Africa.

Rather than an American fighting a war in North Africa, wouldn't it be more interesting if "Archer" was a South African fighting in North Africa, since that's a lump of historical trauma we could have crippled the character with every time he met racial divisions or slavery in space?

"North Africa" is not a country, although google claims it as a region covering many countries.

There are 54 countries in the continent of Africa today.

What if by the time the Supermen finished Posturing there was only one country one on the dark continent, called Africa which had a north and a south, or by the time they got down to two factions and drew a line between two princes of the universe, that there were two countries "North Africa" and "South Africa" (but not necessarily the same place we call South Africa today.)?

Why are we assumming "North Africa" is a country? It's been a geographic region long before google became a thing.
WWII has a whole front in North Africa as did WWI There were also fronts in South-East Asia, Europe, the Pacific and all over the globe.

Don't know if this has come up, but this occurred to me the other day: La'an might be very tired of living in Khan NS's shadow, but were her parents?

I can't stand that Khan is still a thing in SNW but it might almost be interesting if her parents (or whichever is the descendant) were actually proud of their eugenics heritage.
