The War Games -- colororized

Yes. As I've probably mentioned before, it never feels padded or repetitive, because it shifts focus and introduces new characters and story elements every couple of episodes. It's really remarkably well-paced.
Arguably it is a little bit padded. But not much. As said, most episodes give the idea a great twist. It's not WW1, there are Romans next door, the War Chief, the War Lord, the Time Lords, etc.

A great eight parter with an epilogue episode.

Saw it. The colorization is fantastic. The editing not so much. Condensing down 4 hours into a 1.5 is a bit much.
I saw it as well at Gally. The colorization of War Games was much better than The Daleks. I was OK with the editing. I love the original. And there were obvious missing bits. But I still enjoyed the color version.

Count the customers and see how much extra money per copy they'd shell out for. If the estimators get that right, then take that extra money and apply it to colorizing the entire story after remastering it as best as possible. Add in a third disc for b/w only and voila: A deluxe edition where everyone gets it best: The original, full color but no new music/cuts, the trimmed down version with revised music. Is the story worth, say, $15 more per copy for getting all of it colorized? Also to consider how many sales were lost because the official $40 blu-ray release only got the chopped color version and b/w unremastered dvd? Considering many of us paid $70 for the VHS in 2001 and that was just the bare-bones story, $55 for that deluxe set isn't exactly horrid. Then again, some people loathe colorization regardless so would they balk at $55 on principle? Never mind other facets to all this, like how a company that makes many shows can choose move profit to cover those other shows that don't rake in as much as they'd estimated, etc, etc, etc.

I agree with this. I've seen 6-ep shows that felt longer and more padded. The War Games is truly EPIC. I'd love to see the original version remastered and colorized.

Yeah, I'm not even a fan of the animated reconstructions being in color. Hartnell and Troughton era Who really should be black and white.

I don't mind that, since they are new animation, and thus it's an alternative creation rather than an alteration to the original footage. Although I'm glad that they do allow the viewer a choice of B&W or color animation.
