And let's not forget planets like those in "The Man Trap" and "What Are Little Girls Made Of?" where you've got basically one guy tere, plus robots/aliens masquerading as his friends. There may even just be planets where there's just a few normal guys, historians, archaeologists picking around desolate ruins...

Same here. Odd, inconsistent tone for Trek and I hated the below decks stuff. Why must people compelled to blow up some of the mystique of Trek?

The Borg were neutered, the Klingons dissected, the Romulans castrated, Starfleet infiltrated, Section 31 created (REALLY dumb move) ... leave some of the "givens" in Trek alone.

Not to mention the overt Mary Sue aspects of Valeris showing up Chekov.

TUC seems more like a big-budgeted fanboy production than from the same guy that brought us ST II.
