(Well, I suppose you could reduce her to walking cleavage, wait for her to quit and not replace her… and considering Gene Roddenberry’s involvement in early seasons it’s kind of surprising that this didn’t happen.)
I don't really see it, though. Troi was the ship's shrink, so when people saw her, it was in an official capacity. Guinan was more talking with someone like a friend in a relaxed environment (Ten Forward, a bar).
