The Least Disliked Episode 2025 - DS9 Season 3

"Destiny" was the other episode that I was considering in my last choice. This is one that doesn't really seem to work for me. I understand that her religion was very important to Kira but there's a huge difference between thinking of the wormhole aliens as gods and believing vague prophecies. THe fulfilment of the prophesy seems to me to be at the same level as thinking your horoscope has come true. The Cardassians co-operating and not co-operating at the same time - especially so overtly - seems an odd way to conduct interstellar politics (surely you just stall starting the project?). Anyway, it's lots of good bits but some real annoyances.

The House of Quark
Past Tense (II)
Improbable Cause
The Die is Cast
Facets

Tough choice but having to pick a least best among these finalists the hammer fell on Past Tense part 2.

The House of Quark
Improbable Cause
The Die is Cast
Facets

A quick question as this round is nearing an end, for season 4 will Way of the Warrior be mashed together as one episode. I know it is technically a 2 parter but I have never seen it broken up (it isnt in video and dvd box sets) and only have an educated guess as to where the split is.

Taking out "FACETS".

I absolutely love all the others just a little more. One for being a great Quark story and realistic marriage story, and the other a game changing two-parter.

The House of Quark
Improbable Cause
The Die is Cast

Now that's a surprising winner .

Definitely good but not my top 5.

Went out for the evening and missed the fun.

May the Prophets forgive me. I choose The House of Quark to win. If only for the fact Improbable Cause NEEDS to be with The Die is Cast and just cant be watched in a standalone experience.
OK, House of Quark is a fine winner, but could we get a better reason? Is every two parter doomed to sink?

Well yes I guess actually. You aren't getting a complete story with just one episode of a two parter and while I masochistically enjoy a good cliffhanger and Star Trek has many chilling ones whenever Im doing a rewatch I will never stick with just the one. I feel if you're asking me to decide between a full experience with a start, middle and end and one that is just a start and a middle then the latter is a less satisfying experience. While both parts were on the board I could not have chosen between them even if they were final two.

Trying to choose between the virtues of two outstanding episodes is not easy so I chose based on which would I prefer to watch right now if those were the only two options available to me.

I apologise if this method of decision making isn't ideal.

No reason to apologize for how you eliminate an episode. Sometimes we'll take one out just because of something simple like one line was bad or a scene just was not as good as the rest.

Besides... "IMPROBABLE CAUSE" is the runner up, so it made it to the Finals.

"I can live with it."
