The Least Disliked Episode 2025 - DS9 Season 4

Removing Way of the Warrior. Epic, yes, but it sometimes feels like pastiche that don't integrate well together. Too many hard turns, too much exposition. Although they would lead somewhere good, the scenes between Dorn and Farrell often feel forced.

Homefront
Accession
To the Death
The Quickening
Body Parts

An unexpected winner it must be said, I actually toyed with removing it earlier instead of Accession. Both episodes have stupid people in it who make me angry with their stupidity but the Bajorans were the most stupid and showed how fragile their society is so that one got sent to the chopping block

In a season so filled with all time classics, I love this hilariously random final four.
In a season full of 9s and 10s, it's easy to have a completely different list of Final Fours each time the game is played.

For context, I think the following are 10s.

THE WAY OF THE WARRIOR
THE VISITOR (If I could, I'd really rate it a 12.)
OUR MAN BASHIR
HARD TIME
THE QUICKENING

And I find these are 9s.

HIPPOCRATIC OATH
REJOINED
STARSHIP DOWN
LITTLE GREEN MEN
THE SWORD OF KAHLESS
HOMEFRONT
PARADISE LOST
CROSSFIRE
RETURN TO GRACE
SONS OF MOGH
ACCESSION
FOR THE CAUSE
TO THE DEATH
BODY PARTS
BROKEN LINK

These are 8s.

INDISCRETION
BAR ASSOCIATION
RULES OF ENGAGEMENT
SHATTERED MIRROR

This is a 7 for me.

THE MUSE

My top pics for this season are The Visitor, Little Green Men, Hard Time, and The Quickening. The Visitor wins on sentiment and effect, but The Quickening is pure artistry. It has a memorable cold opening, it has great performances by Bashir, Dax, Trevean, and Akorea. The directing is sensitive (plus that amazing tracking shot). The location feels different than most outdoor shooting sites. Nareen Shankar produced a legitimate conflict in which the antagonist and protagonist are willing to learn, to question their assumptions, and find a path forward. The fact that Bashir allows Trevean all the glory, then goes back to work, is perfectly bittersweet DS9.

True, but I remember a few years ago someone else beat me to it and took it out before I had the chance, so I'm counting on that happening again should I ever be busy.
I wasn't here a few years ago but I am here now. I wasn't around yesterday after the first few rounds but The Visitor would have been my next selection.

I think Tony Todd's acting is great but this isn't the kind of thing I want to see when I am watching Star Trek plus there are so many things wrong with the actual idea and the message portrayed.
