The Least Disliked Episode 2025 - DS9 Season 7

Field of Fire is a decent episode, but there was Ezri overload at this point of the season, so I was fed up with her.

Ninja'd!

In that case, I'll go with Once More Unto the Breach, even though I feel like I'm punching puppies by eliminating a Kor episode.

Treachery, Faith, and the Great River
The Siege of AR-558
Strange Bedfellows
The Changing Face of Evil
When It Rains...

Eliminating Strange Bedfellows: too early in the arc, things aren't being fleshed out even within the context of one episode. It would be left to writers down the road to make more of this. Too much waiting around. On the other hand, the next Weyoun.

She was regularly working on the Defiant's bridge when it was in battle, just like Jadzia had.
But not in the same role.

Jadzia was piloting the Defiant pretty much every time she was on the bridge. Ezri was manning of the side consoles (sensors/ operations type of role), so she was more support for the bridge crew rather than be the one maneuvering the ship.

Big difference in jobs.

She was supposed to be a station counselor.
So what are you saying - they should leave her behind? The Defiant had a small crew, what if a lot of them are injured and another crew member on the bridge would be very helpful. She's not going to be doing a whole lot of analysis of crew member's psychological problems when they're in combat anyway.

Troi was ship's counselor, but she also performed other duties when the need arised. Like in "The Best of Both Worlds", she saw to the evacuation of large sections of the ship in preparation for the deflector dish use. Or the many times she helped out diplomatic situations, like in "The Ensigns of Command".

On DS9, Jadzia was Science Officer, but she was also helmsman for pretty much every time she was aboard the Defiant.

Bashir has also taken the helm at least twice when it was necessary. In "THE SEARCH, PART I", he took the helm when the helmsman was killed. And in "BEHIND THE LINES", for the Argolis mission, he did the same. (From a discussion in the Mess Hall.)

There's nothing stopping Starfleet officers from performing multiple roles when the need occurs.

Guinan took her job, they had to find other things for her to do besides walk around in a low cut top.

(Well, I suppose you could reduce her to walking cleavage, wait for her to quit and not replace her… and considering Gene Roddenberry’s involvement in early seasons it’s kind of surprising that this didn’t happen.)
