NCC-73515

Vice Admiral
Admiral
Since the SNW crossover is gonna happen in a week, and people can see it this Saturday at SDCC already, I thought there should be a thread here as well.

Almost as cute as the animated version :D

The preview clip of the crossover episode from The Ready Room is of the above scene and and The Ready Room episode is available. I'm sure the clip will make its way to YouTube before long.

The first thing he says when he sees Pike is...

"Computer, end program!"

That's so awesome! And it completely removes any doubts I might have had about the two styles of shows not mixing well.

Do we have an idea why Boimler is so spooked when he sees Una? And what do you think is it that Pike wanted to say in the end: “He is just … weird”?

I thought it was weird at first that they recognized him as an ensign, but then I remembered that Starfleet used pips in the 22nd century so whatever.

Granted this is only a small clip, but considering that Boimler doesn't react as if everything looks different than what he'd be used to if he was expecting the TOS aesthetic (he gives no indication at all that his surroundings and the crew look as if they're anything but normal), I'm not sure they're going to acknowledge the visual disconnect (which was what I thought they'd be doing in heaps.)

Why would they, though? I was under the impression that the SNW producers were intending for everything always having looked like they are portraying on their show. They might still have Boimler or Mariner make a small joke about it during the episode, but the assumption isn‘t that SNW somehow portrays things wrong.

Because it would be funny for them to point out the inconsistencies, because LDS doesn’t take itself seriously. But yes, because this is an episode of SNW and not LDS, they’re probably not going to do this. Either way, we’ll find out soon enough how it goes.

Jack really looks like his dad in that pic. It's The Grin. :)

Well, we already know (based on "Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow") that

the timeline has been altered

so that's a ready-made excuse for any differences in aesthetics.
