SPECULATION for Last Episode of Star Trek: Lower Decks 5x10

Unless they can redress the sets from Disco or Academy, there ain't gonna be any more live action.
Not saying there's much chance of it happening, but in regards to this comment.... who says they need sets?

We're living in the age of virtual productions. Both The Mandalorian and Strange New Worlds make extensive use of virtual sets, and they look pretty damn good and convincing.

It wouldn't take THAT much to put at least the main members of the cast into costume and put them in front of a virtual wall for 5 minutes.

Not saying it has any real chance of happening, but it is possible.

Which would be cheaper to do?
(VR wall would be easier to keep a secret)

There was mention elsewhere of a showrunner saying they were "getting someone who doesn't pick up the phone for Star Trek" for 5.10. Unless that was an error and in fact they were referring to Jolene, then there is still the potential for a bigger name. I can't find the second-hand quote now and the original source wasn't linked.
It could have been a reference to Jolene or Andrew Robinson, both of whom have been retired from acting, though I don't either have spoken against Star Trek specifically. It could also have been a reference to Alexander Siddig who intentionally avoided Rick Berman when he tried getting in contact with Siddig around 2003 or so and was one of two of the DS9 cast who did not attend a cast reunion at a convention about a decade ago. The other to not attend was Colm Meaney.

Did the makers of the series know it was going to be the last season before making it? If they were informed afterwards, perhaps it will be just a common season finale, rather than a series finale.

As has been stated multiple times including this very thread, they did not know this would be the final season when writing or producing. When word came down the show was ending, they managed to put together a special eight minute epilogue which will serve as the show's ending.

Siddig's never struck me as someone who's avoided Star Trek in the years since. He's had a pretty busy career since the show ended, so that could be the reason. 2003 lines up with pre-production on Ridley Scott's Kingdom of Heaven, in which he had a fairly significant role.

I just remember an interview around 2003 or so where the interviewer asked Siddig about rumors of him appearing on Enterprise (which I was unaware of prior to that interview). Siddig's answer was something like "Rick Berman did recently try and get in contact, but I couldn't be found when he called." Which certainly struck me as a snub. Though later in that interview, Siddig elaborated he had a low opinion of American television in general, not just Star Trek. Though he's obviously gotten over that given his appearances on Gotham and Star Wars Bad Batch.

Siddig voiced Bashir in Star Trek Online back in 2018. Andrew Robinson came back as Garak as well.

They got a lot of the DS9 cast, the only main characters missing were Sisko, O'Brien, Ezri and Worf (sorta)

No, he wouldn’t.

He always enjoyed his time on DS9, and I have faith that he would return for a cameo if asked (and if he liked the script).
Never said he didn't enjoy it but I have read plenty of interviews where he says that Star Trek was one part of his career and that part is done. He may come back and a quick voice only job like LD would be a good way to do it for someone who doesn't want to interrupt his other work.

Around what time is Paramount+ even releasing the episodes these days? Still +/- 11:15pm Pacific Time?

So I'm trying like mad to avoid spoilers, but for the life of me everywhere I go says the episode hasn't dropped yet. Neither my Paramount Plus account (which I cancelled because my dad covers it through his Amazon Prime, though it lets me see the episodes that have dropped on Paramount plus) nor my dad's Amazon Prime account list episode 10. They go up to episode 9 then it just says "rewatch episode 9". It's infuriating that I'm missing out. I mean I live on the east coast so it may just be a couple hours wait, but I have seen enough of other threads that I know for some people the episode has dropped already. If anyone knows what's going on or how I can figure this out then please let me know. Thanks!

During PICARD season 3, it was common for Amazon Prime to sometimes be up to 30 minutes ahead of Paramount+ proper. Another thing you could try doing is really turning off then back on your TV. Might force the app to refresh the content offerings.
