Tech Issues In The New Movie

The tech issues aren't why the movie sucked.

They're symptomatic of why the movie sucked, though.

One can certainly argue that, but the point is that opinions related to the overall quality of the movie aren't really suitable here, and especially not if you happen to have a bias either for or against the movie. We have a separate forum for that.

What it comes down to is this: my rules have always been simple, and since I've rarely had to put on my mod hat, I must be doing something right. ;) Keep everything on topic, don't break the general rules, and don't start fights. Simple as that. If you want to discuss the merits of a movie or a series, go to the appropriate forum. If you want to talk about aspects of technology and Treknology, this is the place for it. And if you have an issue with myself or other mods, please feel free to contact us privately or speak with T'Bonz or the admins.

But when it comes to stuff getting derailed and degenerating into arguments, as has been happening lately, you all know I dislike that. And I will warn people who can't behave.

^ In which case, there is exactly zero reason to derail threads into discussions about how much you think STXI sucked. But if you are unwilling or unable to refrain from spamming these threads with that same tired line, you can simply join the other trolls in my ignore list.

Actually, the only derailing that I can see here is your constant zealotry for defending every last aspect of this movie, and your nonexistant consideration for your fellow posters.

I strongly suggest that you re-examine your priorities as a member of this forum. Are you here to enjoy discussion of tech issues, or are you here to push your 'pro-movie' agenda down everyone's throats, regardless of how they actually feel about the movie?

I have plenty of consideration for people's right to have opinions. What I lack is consideration for self-important egotists who present their opinions from a positioned of assumed authority, whether or not said opinion is even relevant to the subject at hand.

As it stands, I am not referring to any derailment in THIS thread. It's a troll thread, it's impossible to derail, we all know that going in. What I referring to--and what I may make reference to later if the problem persists--is the assumption that one's opinion on a particular movie is important enough to volunteer at even the slightest flimsy excuse.

My backwards friend, there is no "pro-movie" agenda for something the majority people happened to approve of. A vocal minority is pushing an ANTI-movie agenda, and I do say pushing that agenda, because the subject rarely comes up by itself without one member of that minority instigating the topic.

For now I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you're just playing devil's advocate. But this is NOT the right forum to patrol every possible thread looking for any sign of unjustified STXI approval so you can complain about it.

I was ponding earlier whether to close this one or not, but now I think the answer's clear.
