Spoilers Starship Design in Star Trek: Picard

It's easily possible that Riker had the new A initially, then Shaw took over because they moved to Nepenthe to treat their son.

We see the Eleos registry better next week. Where did you see a preview?

Update: Found it in the Ready Room.

And there is the USS Constance, a Constellation-class starship with a registry number that is significantly lower than the prototype.

I guess if you ask Matals about it, he'll probably tell you that the Constance was originally of an older class and refit to Constellation-class.

Every instance of a 23rd century Connie seems to be the refit so far. I wonder if they’re just avoiding that can of worms.

Maybe Paramount wants them to use the redesign, but they didn’t want to do they’re just avoiding it lol

edit: wait I think there’s a TOS Enterprise in Ten Forward, on the shelf of souvenirs

Oh give it a break. It’s not the first ship in star trek history lower than the Class ship. The USS Constellation Connie class was lower than the USS constitution

What's the difference between last year's Stargazer and this year's Titan-A when we're talking about bridge? It looks 100% the some. Not even small changes.

Riker's "Neo Constitution class" line seems to have been ADR'd in later, it cuts to a shot of the ship just before so you don't see him say it, and his voice changes ever so slightly between words.

And there is the USS Constance, a Constellation-class starship with a registry number that is significantly lower than the prototype. As the Constellation has registry NX-1974, this ship has a registry of NCC-1038. It is probably smarter and safer to stay away from the room where registry numbers are discussed and debated for a while.
The Registry number is 10367
right before it goes out of focus you can see the edge of the 7 for a single frame.

Also the NX Constellation isn't canon.

The chairs to the sides of the captain have consoles and the railing lights are blue. That's about it.

Registry numbers have never been consistent, going all the way back to TOS.

Sure they have. Except when someone made a mistake. The only TOS ship with an inconsistent registry was the Constellation due to the available decals. Every other Constitution got their registry retroactively and randomly assigned by Greg Jein (then a mere fan) based on the unsubstantiated assumption that every ship on the Starbase 11 chart must've been a Constitution.

Also Lakenheath was wrong, the registry number was 5 digits. NCC-10367

Then all is well. ;-)

Tuskin38, Thank you for the correction. The NX Constellation is canonical; the ship's name and registry were seen on a starship status chart in Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country.

I forgot to add one other ship to my list and that is the USS Stargazer (NCC-2893). The name is seen on Jack R. Crusher's carryon.
