Spoilers Star Trek 14: Section 31 Starships Discussion

Also shares some vague similarities with the Batris, the holoship from Insurrection and probably a dozen other sci-fi cargo ships.

I guess at the end of the day there’s only so many ways you can do a design that’s reminiscent of real world cargo freighters.

Those ships have a streamlined front.

The scow and the freighter from Rebel Moon have a non-streamlined front with a giant cargo door. And both ships have a similar looking bridge module with inward angled windows on top.

Wow, how very wrong...

Which isn't canon, so I'm not sure why it applies here.

Also in STO lore it wasn't named that until after her Husband's death, so at this point in history it would have no known name.
What nice looking ships have we gotten since ?

What about the Sagan class Stargazer? Or the Duderstadt? Personally I like the Inquiry too but I'm lonely on that opinion. But yes the ships on this "movie" was more star wars with 10% Trek....kinda. They underutilized Michelle Yeoh and really dropped the ball on her backstory, in my uneducated opinion of course. But I like discovery so don't think I'm just a hater.
Former is too busy and the latter looks like a kit bash.

Definitely some of the better ships we have seen recently.

Well, I have seen it! Maybe it was all the incredibly negative reviews setting my bar so low it could crawl over but, uh... I didn't mind it? Like I can't exactly RAVE about it but it was better than your average DISCO episode. I like that Star Trek is a place where you can tell all sorts of stories, even mindless actiony-heist stories! I almost feel like if we played a Star Trek RPG about Section 31 operatives we'd end up with a bonkers team like this one: "My guy's a shapeshifter! Oh, and I love your guy who is a tiny alien piloting a robot body!"

I liked the 'Among Us' bit where they didn't know who to trust, I liked the action and space battle sequences (and that they were prepared to have a high fatality rate), I liked the 'Mission Impossible' framing device, I liked Rachel Garrett... I'd have watched a show about these jerks. I even LOL'd at one line! ("What are they gonna do, drag us to death?")

Was it lame? Yes. Was it awful? Nah. The effects are good, the action set-pieces are fun, it was diverting enough that I stopped working and actually watched most of it. It's quite blah, but set your standards to stun and it's a middling sci-fi that happens to take place in the Star Trek universe (well, sort of, it could have been set anywhere really) and (sort of?) answers what happened to Georgiou after she stepped through the Guardian.

I wonder if we'll see any concept art for the ships. San's ship would be interesting to see. Still can't quite make sense of it.

A kitbash for the digital age! If that's true, though, it makes me wonder about interiors. Were those redressed sets of some kind -like the TOS and TNG movies often used- or built just for the movie?

None of the other ships they've done are nutty, so I'm not sure it would have happened here either.

What do the other ships have to do with what I wrote? I’m talking about ships that suit the specific time period of the 2320’s.
