"Zero's body is deteriorating without any possibility of a cure, so the Doc and Jankom seek an alternative solution. Starfleet command refuses to allow Janeway and her protégés to complete their temporal mission by sending the Protostar back to Tars Lamora, but an unforeseen attack on Voyager and the Protostar will change the situation." - Cygnus-X1.Net

Does anybody have the "Size/Scale" on the new baddie ship?

How big is Voyager-A compared to the Protostar?

Tom Paris' new Nova Flyers are pretty dang manueverable, but why do they lack weapons facing aftwards?

That seems like a huge design flaw, & Tom should know better than that.

Is it bad that when Kathryn and Chakotay were meeting again that I was figuratively screaming, "KISS!!"?
No ;)

I thought I was pretty steeled against nostalgia when my heart didn't grew three sizes after S3 Picard but seeing Janeway and Chakotay together on screen, with much better writing than either got on VOY, truly dies take me make to sophomore year of high school when Trek was all new to me and J/C was my first foray into fanfiction.

Truly was good times.

I haven't finished the season as I'm typing this but given that Kate Mulgrew is no longer the sole woman captain of the franchise and there's no danger of a relationship overshadowing her character's legacy, I hope to God that the very blatant ship teasing isn't just that.

Well, that was a surprising turn of events, Ascencia keeps amazing us with her hyper aggressive moves! She's turning pretty crazy now.

There is a bit of a contrast between her ability to pull off all this sh*t, and then the convoluted way to execute her plans instead of just finishing off her enemies while vulnerable/down. She loves the evil monologueing a bit too much.

Nice that Dal got to fly and be useful that way.

Liked it that Starfleet was actually going to do something for once, with the situation around the Protostar. But we can't have that, of course.

I thoroughly enjoyed that episode. Prodigy season 2 might have become my favorite of the streaming Trek seasons with this. I knew this was a two parter, but I wasn't expecting the torpedoes to fail, nor for Wesley to be the reason they had such advanced technology.

A few things I noticed. For one, it seems Paris is still merely a Lieutenant, presumably in solidarity with Ensign Kim. I also have to assume those are the only fighter ships in Starfleet with actual physical switches. I was also never really crazy about Dal being on the Captaincy path, and I think this episode is firmly setting up that he will instead pivot towards being a pilot instead, which I think is a much better choice for him. Likewise I think Gwyn is moving towards command, in a similar way to how Murf, Rok, and in a way Zero took their time discovering their roles.

That ship reminded me a lot of the Scimiter from Nemesis or Nero's ship from the 2009 Star Trek film.
I definitely noticed the similarities to Nero's ship, and just assumed it was a visual stylistic choice. However, with the reveal that it was Wesley who was behind their technological advancements, and since Wesley himself made a reference to that ship in a previous episode, it could be an actual connection.

Vau N'akat vessels (REV-##) have always used this design aesthetic though. I don't think a connection to the Narada, which was supposedly a mining vessel, was intended, other than a vague likeness looked at from a distance.

She was toying with them. There is also a second motivation that is revealed in part II.
