I wish Nerflix would include the episode titles. That bodes ill.
I think that’s due to the confusion about the titles. Until today, almost all the titles online at Wikipedia, Memory Alpha, TV Tropes and IMDb were wrong due to being translated literally from the French titles from back in March. They might be titleless currently on Netflix due to the confusion. Heck, there’s still review threads here with the wrong titles.

Oh my lord, Bernd over at EAS

It is only a passing remark, but when Rok-Tahk mentioned Larkin and his Tribbles, I almost felt like switching off the TV. It is inappropriate for three reasons. Firstly, it is another unnecessary cross-over between Discoverse and non-rebooted Trek. Secondly, the only way to explain why Tribbles would be unknown in "The Trouble with Tribbles", a few years after the disaster caused by Larkin, would have been that Starfleet pulled another Lex Spock and swept it under the rug - a loophole that is hard to maintain if Rok-Tahk lectures on the incident at school. Thirdly, "The Trouble with Edward" is such a cynical and unsavory episode that it should have remained totally isolated.

I agree. That Edward short was awful. Doesn’t even make sense since Tribbles are said to multiply quickly in Enterprise.

Decent start. Sets up the season and reintroduces us to the characters. I really liked the conversation between Dal and Gwyn. I've missed this cast.

I was a little surprised they didn't do more with the title sequence, as the Protostar isn't really around anymore.
Recreating the title sequence takes money, and they will probably use multiple ships this season anyway.

I second the like for the ultra-long distance call between Dal and Gwyn. Beautifully written, animated and (voice)acted. An excellent way of doing what is a recap to some extent, but in a very organic way (Gwyn's description of her mission was quite something). Both Dal and Gwyn really come alive in this sequence.

I love how the PADD's / Tablets have built in Kick-Stands for Landscape mode once you pull it apart, that seems like a nice feature to have built into your tablet.
Yes, that was a nice detail. So was the horizontal turbolift, and also the (mostly recognisable) food they got in the canteen. Zero with an empty glass was a particularly nice touch.
Damn that was fun! I hadn't realized how much I missed this show until I heard the theme. Jankom trying to be polite was hysterical! I loved the "come join me" messages on their PADDs and the kids' reactions. I got the feeling that "Didn't you read 'Temporal Mechanics 101'?" will be an in-joke for awhile.
A fun episode indeed.
At least Dal finally did get around to do some studying, as he was clearly reading about the origins of the Borg.

We also know now that Starfleet used a vessel with conventional warpdrive to get to Solum, probably using the transwarp conduits inherited from the Borg.

I gave it a 7. It's an alright episode, I like seeing the gang at Starfleet, and I think they're setting up the plot pretty well. Some nitpicks -- while it was nice to see the EMH again, I found his model to be very stiff, much more so than the other characters on the show. Compared to the live action Doctor, this one is much less emotive. I'm also surprised they didn't just outright play the Voyager theme when the Voyager-A was first shown, as I'm pretty sure they did so in Lower Decks.

I'm also hoping they show us a bit more about the Romulan evacuation. It's a really interesting plotline that I felt was very poorly shown in Picard.

Does this Bernd guy believe that Discovery is not part of the Prime Universe? Discoverse and non-rebooted Trek? Ugh

I lean more in favor of Bernd's overall POV than away, but he really is too closed minded on this. Just because Uhura (and others) didn't know what a tribble was doesn't mean they were an unknown species.

I live on Earth and I do not know all the animal species on just this one planet.

Anyway... I actually missed some of what Rok said because she was speaking fast.

The first episode did give off LD vibes and that was my thought when Dal (I think) complained they wouldn't be together all the time. They can spend off hours together while they have a day job of their own.

Nice Picard reference as to the evacuation of Romulus.
