Like someone above said they looked like sensor pallets. I thought they were an opaque part of the hull.

Like someone above said they looked like sensor pallets. I thought they were an opaque part of the hull.

As far as I know, the sensors on 24th century SF ships are located along the rim of the saucer... an indented line if you will.

Also, Drednok constantly saying 'returning this ship to its 'rightful' owner' is getting on my nerve. Its a ship designed and built by UFP... therefore, its not the Diviners' (unless the Diviner was the one who helped design it - and even then, it wouldn't have been done without UFP - so, again, not his... not really).

Love it

I wonder if Dal and Gwen will end up splitting captaining duties, in some non traditional structure? Probably not, but I could see either one becoming the captain and the other the first officer.

- The team (especially Gwyn) needs to find a way to prevent future takeovers and intrusions from Dreadnok and the Diviner. I realize they know the ship better than our young crew, but this incident should put it front and center that as long as those two have access to command codes and computer systems even from light years away, they'll never be safe.

- I liked the approach this time, no pun intended. I'm not a time travel fan, or a time paradox fan, but this was handled really well. I like it when a kids show doesn't treat kids like idiots, and just says what the problem is in plain language, but not dumbed down or simplified to the point where it's absurd.

- I was glad to see Rok-Tahk gets to shine. She's definitely the heart of the crew, no question. Spending all of that time alone, poor thing, and afraid to take on the responsibility Gwyn felt she should be assigned. I'm glad both of them resolved that issue, and so we get a Rok-Tahk who is a little older, a little wiser, and a lot more educated on engineering, science, and mathematics.

Also, that ending? Right in the feels.

9/10.

This is a very sweet show, and I appreciate what the writers are doing here.
Also, points to Kate Mulgrew, for just being awesome.

With this episode ‪‪I feel like their roles on the ship have all been sort of hinted at if not defined.

Dal’s been explicitly the captain from the beginning.

Jankom is the engineer, also mentioned from the beginning.

Gwyn ‪‪has been called the communications officer onscreen, though as many have mentioned she shows captain potential as well, and with her knowledge of the ins and outs of the ship, she would make a great chief operations officer.

Zero ‪‪I think, though many reasonably pegged them as a natural navigator, with Medusans known for their navigational skills, shows signs of becoming the ship’s counselor. They have gone out of their way to check on multiple people’s feelings, and seem to be largely motivated through empathy.

And Rok-Tahk, who seemed like a natural fit for security, which was presumed by both the other characters and viewers to be a perfect role for her, seems much more suited to the sciences, and would maybe be a better chief science officer, or maybe a specialization in xenobiology, since she loves animals/alien creatures so much.

Yeah, multi-factor authentication. It wasn't a thing in the 90s, but sure is now.
Face, voice, fingerprint, password could all be rolled into it. But I suppose being a kid show they didn't want to put too fine a point on it.

Another really entertaining episode of PRO. Not as great as the last 2-3 outings, but still strong.

I love these characters, and honestly this show has more genuine warmth and heart than any of the other modern offerings (which is not what I judge the quality of a series by…but it doesn’t hurt either)

7/10

Pretty solid episode, IMO. I loved the character development for Rok-tahk. I hope they spend some time on Zero and Jankom to flesh them out more as well.

Random musings:
- I like that Jankom continually seems to be the most vocal about joining up with the Federation. As a member of one of the founding civilizations of the Federation, it's a nice touch that he immediately sees the benefits they provide.

- Agree that the writing for Dal is not putting him in a likable position, even if he is growing. I'd love to see him reach a point of maturity where he recognizes Gwyn's leadership qualities and steps back to let her take the lead.

One more thought after a quick rewatch before heading to sleep, I loved hearing Drednok use Chakotay’s voice when he used his access codes, just like Data used Picard’s for the same purpose in TNG S04E03 Brothers.
I wasn't sure if I imagined it XD

You'd think Starfleet would install a security feature that also checks for biometrics when someone issues a command to the computer, to make sure it isn't someone imitating the ship's Captain or something.
Having only seen the German version for a while, in which Data uses his normal voice, it was a revelation to see the original version with him using Picard's voice :D

Wow. What a strange position to take. Kids I'd say are more likely to get their minds around new concepts than adults. I was 7 when Back to the Future came out and I don't think I had a problem with it at all. And I don't think I was exceptionally smart either.
Same here, BTTF was actually my introduction to sci-fi in general. I was a BTTF fan before I saw anything space-related. But I have met an adult who didn't understand time travel: she thought when someone travels back to the time they were 5, they should actually be 5.

Voyager did an episode similar to this but Chakotay was the one that was able to travel between the time periods.

this episode was good but I kinda hate that little mini-cliffhanger ending.

I think episodes like this show the limitations of being a 24-25 minute show. After an episode of Lower Decks it feels…over. Like they get in everything they wanted and told a complete story. After an episode of Prodigy it feels unfinished, like there is more to do, more to see.

Also, Drednok constantly saying 'returning this ship to its 'rightful' owner' is getting on my nerve. Its a ship designed and built by UFP... therefore, its not the Diviners' (unless the Diviner was the one who helped design it - and even then, it wouldn't have been done without UFP - so, again, not his... not really)
unless he’s actually working with Chakotay. He has his command codes after all…

Or *is* Chakotay. But I don’t think they’ll go that far.

It really annoys me how episode previews are no longer part of the show files
I like this. I never watch them to avoid spoilers anyway.

Did anyone else have to look up the fox/chicken/grain problem?
I knew it as the wolf/sheep/salad problem.
