Oh god, McMahan, what have you done with the Discovery Klingons thing? I guess we'll never be free of the alternate timeline nonsense argument.
It's confirmed, DISCO Klingons are part of a different SNW / DISCO Trek TimeLine.

It's still part of Trek, so don't worry, just in another (Quantum Reality / Parallel Universe) =D

Otherwise, a good end for the show. Except for Boimler's ugly-ass beard still being there.
The Beard looked good IMO.

I was especially happy to see that Bajoran in sickbay again.
Don't forget that Lower Decker who fell back from ascending to a higher plane in S1.

Also, I like the fact that Rutherford got rid of his Cybernetics, now he can show his full affection for Tendi.

Now they can slowly work towards being a couple, being engaged, getting married, & then having kids.

Imagine what a Human / Orion hybrid child would look like.

This strongly suggests that LDS says Disco is not prime, at least LDS and Disco are not the same universe ;)
Yup, part of a "Alternate Quantum Reality / Parallel Universe".
It's still part of the greater Trek Multiverse / Family.

This looked like the Disco mycelial network too

Yup, looked just like it!

Does anybody know if that larger "Klingon Bird of Prey" with Bi-Wings was a ship from STO, or a original design?

A solid sendoff with a good setup for a revival/spinoff. So I guess Starfleet has had access to an alternate reality portal through the entirely of Picard, Prodigy, and the last three seasons of Discovery but it just never came up. Gotta love shared continuity programming made by multiple creative teams.

I'll miss Lower Decks. This season wasn't as good as prior ones, but as usual they saved the best episodes for last.

I'm good with it. I was a bit underwhelmed by the last couple eps, but this one worked for me.

It's OK if some subtext stays subtext, right?

Weird to have the Enterprise there but no crew members. Missed opportunity if you ask me.

I just noticed something, Boimler did some impressive flying right before the Cerritos had to enter the Schrodinger Field and Relga started firing on the Cerritos.

He used the Cerritos Shield to play "StarShip Bumper Cars" and forced one of the Small Bird of Preys to crash into the other when they got close.

Boimler literally downed 2x Bird of Preys w/o firing a single shot and using physics & Cerritos significantly larger mass to shove one Bird of Prey into another, effectively killing both.

That's brilliant opportunistic flying IMO. That's also reason why you don't fly so damn close to each other.

Then things like that can happen!

STO lockbox ships incoming.:klingon:

Ok, first things first, this is probably my only 10 of the series. Last week was a strong 9, but this week showed that you can end on a solid high and not crap the sheets. I think Rutherford realising he didn't need his implant, and falling in love with the ship again, is a great metaphor for not giving up on things when times are rough. Love it, well done Mike.

Secondly, the DISCO Klingon cameo.

I don't actually think the intention is to suggest that they are contained solely within another timelime. If so, that would suggest proto-Klingons are too, so are Klingon sail barges, and they've shown up in TNG and VOY. It's like T'Pol, she's absolutely prime as well and I don't think anyone would dispute that.

It's cool if it reinforces the belief in 3 or 4 timelime theories, but I don't actually think that's what is going on here. I could, however, be wrong.

Lastly, does anyone remember a very similar situation happening in Red Dwarf? I know it was in series 6 and they were passing though reality bubbles, causing all kinds of possibilities. Great stuff.

(Was anyone else waiting for the Cerritos to turn into a Constitution class?:vulcan:)

I would have to disagree (and this is why I hate McMahan for this). Lower Decks crossed over with Strange New Worlds. They are in the same quantum reality. A Klingon turning into a different-looking Klingon doesn't even prove that the two types can't coexist. We already had fully human-looking Klingons. We've had Trill with ridges and Trill with spots. It's weak evidence of an alternate timeline.

But also, I don't really care. If it makes you happy to believe it's canonical, who am I to stop anyone else's interpretation? I just don't want to have to sift through the arguments even more.

The SNW one is simple. Not only was it traveling to another time but another universe.

Yes, that was the series 6 finale 'Out of Time,' which was the first thing I thought of when they explained what would happen in the Schrodinger Field.
Me too. "All we've got to do is keep our heads!"

Well, I loved it, particularly the inclusion of the Disco-Klingons and the Kelvin one-nacelle fan debate. I had a bit of a lump in the throat at the end. "Tune in... uh-oh."

Enjoyed that episode a lot. Gave it a 9 but I'm also sad it's the last episode. I'm still wanting more. We need a Lower Decks movie in the future.
McMahan knows better than to have guest characters hijack a finale like ENT did. At the same time though, my brain kept expecting a legacy character to show up. The USS Enterprise mentions were such a tease.

I guess last week's was our fan service episode, and this one was all about our crew.

Disco alternate universe confirmed! 👍. Enjoyed that part
