pretty good episode. Although I’m not the biggest fan of the Boimler storyline. I loved how stubborn Freeman was in having to be the one to fix the computer. Even after she called Billups. The hazing storyline was great too. Mariner having to feign interest in the jazz was pretty funny even moreso because she ended up liking it.

My favorite most random bit had to be Jack critiquing the sculptures at the beginning. Even more than the easter eggs.

8/10 for me.

Hello TrekBBS friends, I am back once again with my weekly question about every episode of Lower Decks:

My daughter, who is now ten, really loves LD and loves to watch it with us on Friday nights. The only episode she has missed is "Where Pleasant Fountains Lie" due to the high level of sexual content, but I do like to check in with the BBS before each episode to make sure there's nothing too bad for a 10YO in each week's ep. For reference, we watched 4.1 and 4.2 last week and they were both perfectly fine, even Moopsy's bone-sucking.

Can anyone tell me if there is anything too objectionable (meaning too violent or sexual) in this week's ep? No need to spoil, just let me know if it would make me a bad parent to watch this ep with her!

Thanks so much.

aside from a potty mouthed Betazoid Gift box, this one should be fine. Especially if she was fine with the Moopsy rampage.

Also that was not the Katan probe. The design is wrong (we also saw it in season 2 on the collector’s station). Though it appeared to do the same thing.
Wouldn't be the first time they goofed on the design of something though, if their intention was for it to be the Kataan probe specifically. The number of things they reference, it's bound to happen occasionally.

The Koala room Boimler ends up in might be a Twin Peaks reference

I love this callback to the red room in Twin Peaks (Season 1, "Episode 2"⬇️) in the room Boimler wakes up during his near-death experience in #StarTrekLowerDecks' "In the Cradle of Vexilon"⬇️. Compare the floor pattern, lamp, armchair and coffee table. :-)

This episode was fine and fun but nothing special.

They visited a Ringworld in an episode with a Kzinti! I wonder what Larry Niven thought of it.

We actually have a canon answer as to how dangerous the "one bad chip" thing can be as we have the Cerritos trash episode where Terminal Provocations shows that removing a couple of chips could result in the failure of the phaser systems and shields.

We also noted that Captain Kirk once stopped a fellow officer from almost blowing up the ship.

We also had "The Naked Now" where one tray of removed chips meant the Enterprise was fucked.
