Since we saw the hapless Ensign Livik in Ep. 5, he's obviously not "One and Done". So, I deleted my previous post and came up with new options... what do you think his future is?

A. Learned Helplessness: Unable to earn a promotion, and unable to transfer, he realizes that his situation is utterly hopeless, stops trying to out-engineer Rutherford, and quietly fades into the background.
B. Punching bag. It's been established in another topic that LD can't use Harry Kim... maybe they're creating their own. He will try time and again to do something that makes him stand out, and will be stymied every time by Rutherford and/or Tendi, who will have no idea what they did.
C. Ensign Vindictive. He will become Rutherford and Tendi's archnemesis and will try to arrange an "accident" for them... before getting brigged and cashiered... a forever ensign who actually deserved it.
D. But... the Guy's Not Wearing Red! Livik will wind up on an away team, suffer an agonizing but strangely hilarious death, and will be cheerfully forgotten.
E. Rivalry of Equals. He later becomes a lieutenant, and he and Rutherford will try to outdo each other again, possibly over some other coveted rank or position.

A rivalry of equals might be the most entertaining: as Charles Emerson Winchester III to Benjamin Franklin "Hawkeye" Pierce, Samanthan Rutherford should have a Worthy Frenemy of his own!

Moopsy? Meet Tim Shaw.

I thought I heard a sonic screwdriver buzz at the end when Rutherford fixes that circuit...

Nice to see the big bad making a return, as well as the cool Romulan warbird redesign. Loved the Mariner/Ransome relationship as well.

Romulans seemed just a tiny bit melodramatic. Otherwise, it might have gotten a 9 out of me.

Somebody needs to nominate them for a Darwin Award. They seem more like Feringi than Humans

that the windows were dimmable.

And WHAT Romulan "towel guy"? And what ceti eels? I just searched the teaser for the former, and all the menagerie scenes for the latter, without finding either.

Oh, for pity's sake, they're Romulans, not Dick Dastardly, Snidely Whiplash, or Hedley Lamarr! They wouldn't be self-identifying as evil.
