She was a bit busy planning a divorce/murder.
Sounds like an episode of that show about wives killing their husbands. What's it called, JILTED?
She was a bit busy planning a divorce/murder.
there is no evidence either way.
I always took that line as a new ship put together by monkeys.
Unless the previous engineering crew were monkeys.Exactly. If it was a tried and true "veteran" ship (just renamed), Scotty wouldn't be having any of those difficulties.
Not really. The Yorktown suffered catastrophic systems damage as a result of the "Whalesong Incident". The theory holds that it's central computer in particular had to be completely replaced, and that the ship thereafter developed significant systems issues. You will note that the brige module was swapped out between films, for example.Scotty's troubles with the Enterprise-A in TFF ("I think this new ship was put together by monkeys!") would seem to put paid to the notion that it's an old ship with the name changed.
Since they're doing live action versions, it makes me wonder if Rutherford is 36, Tendi would be 35, Mariner 39, and Boimler 30.
Which isn't at all strange for Starfleet.
I got the impression that Boimler and Tendi were new grads from the Academy. wich would put them in their early 20s or so.
It couldn't be worse than a car assembled in Australia on a Friday.....could it???I always took that line as a new ship put together by monkeys.
It could you know...and it just might. It couldn't be worse than a car assembled in Australia on a Friday.....could it???
Technically, isn't Picard starting the evacuation of Romulus?
The ships were named after actual municipalities. Hollywood is not one of those.
That this is unknown by non-Americans, and even non-Californians is irrelevant. All the ships were named for actual municipalities. Kudos to the writers for knowing the difference between cities and regions of cities.
According to the Season 1 press kit, and prequel novel, Picard was promoted and started heading the evacuation project in 2381. Now, neither of those are canon but, it was certianlly part of the writer's room timeline.AFAIK, as of LD's current time frame, the Romulan disaster isn't due to happen for a few years yet.
YesAnd I'm fairly sure the Cerritos shuttles are named after real locations in California (I saw one that said Joshua Tree).

They've really done their homework. For example, on the USS Vancouver, all of the shuttles are named after neighborhoods (Fairview, Marpole, Kitsilano) in the actual city of Vancouver, BC. And I'm fairly sure the Cerritos shuttles are named after real locations in California (I saw one that said Joshua Tree).
You're thinking too far into that, Yosemite II is called that because the first Shuttle Yosemite was destroyed. The USS Cerritos shuttle names are all National Parks located in California. They have a shuttle named Yosemite and another named Yosemite II. The most visited part of Yosemite NP is on the Merced River (Yosemite). There is another less visited part of Yosemite NP on the Tuolumne River (Yosemite II). It is like two parks in one. You need a wilderness permit to access The Grand Canyon of the Tuolumne part of the park.
