That's not so unusual since many Trills in the past have had human names, such as Dax, Khan, Curzon and Tobin.
Those are human names? Khan is a title used as a name, but the rest sound alien to me.

Also, in some cases the human sounding names could just be abbreviations of longer alien sounding names. Like Jennifer could be short for Crajenniferelli Sh'Volin.
Or Romana for Romanadvoratrelundar...

A deleted scene in Trek XI showing Spock's birth has Sarek suggesting the name Spock after a famous Vulcan philosopher.

Yep. That deleted scene made its way into the comic adaptation. Good world-building.

But, since we're talking non-canon, the novel "Strangers in the Sky" features Spock's ancestor, Professor Jeremy Grayson, in the 21st century, who was very much a fan of the late Doctor Benjamin Spock. Neat stuff.

Most of the Kira's I know were named after the Major.
Nerys is more common in Great Britain. It's of Welsh origin. IIRC, Donna Noble on Doctor Who has a friend named "Nerys".
Jadzia and Odo are a bit archaic.
One of the Kiras is a friend's daughter and she was named after the character in The Dark Crystal. The other is closer to my age, so I have no idea what her parents were going for. :)

I love that Nerys is Welsh! My paternal grandmother's family were from Wales and I supposedly still have relatives there. Sadly, "Edwards" is such a common last name that I'll probably never find info on them.

Has anybody considered the following? Tendi probably has a gaping hole in the lower backside of her uniform having metamorphed into (and reverted from being) a huge rage scorpion. At some point she'll have to rise from that pile of food and exit the mess hall.

The Red Shirts. I loved when that Ensign with the five-o'clock shadow finally got to command the bridge... and then two minutes later he's relieved of command. And this guy looks pretty old to be an Ensign. He has to be at least 30. So why is he acting like some big shot? :p

Most of the lower decks crew seem fine with group showers: I doubt it was an issue.
