"Shuttlepod One" Line-by-Line!

Look out, Enterprise forum, here we come!

We've recently concluded our http://www.trekbbs.com/showthread.php?t=132477"Sarek Line-by-Line" thread over in the TNG forum.

After each completed thread, I'm randomly picking someone who participated to choose the next episode we do. The lucky winner this time around was 5 LeadHead Rings (aka LeadHead)! And LeadHead has chosen "Shuttlepod One" as our next line-by-line adventure!

For any unfamiliar with our "game," you are asked to post only a single line (defined as one character speaking without interruption by another character) per message. You can post as often as you like, but someone else must post a line in between your posts.

As before, at the conclusion of this thread, I will pick someone at random from among all the participants to choose the next episode we do.

REED: The captain said they'd be mapping this asteroid field, but I can't see head nor tails of them.

 

[LeadHead]

Trip: Maybe it's another Asteroid Field.

 

[Leandar]

Reed: No, this is the one. Two primaries, seventeen planetesimals.

 

[LeadHead]

Trip uses some sort of laser tool to examine circuits

Trip: Well, they weren't expecting us back for 3 days. Maybe they finished and went off to do something else.

 

[Leandar]

Reed: Well, with our sensor array down, we won't know when they get back until we see them. Any luck with the com?

 

[LeadHead]

Trip: Dead as a doornail. I don't understand it.

 

[Leandar]

Reed: Well, no doubt you'll have your boys take this pod apart piece by piece once it's back in the launch bay.

 

[LeadHead]

Trip: I'd be a lot more comfortable having everything in working order by the time Enterprise gets back.

 

[Leandar]

Reed: Well, tinker all you like. I've got a copy of Ulysses here. I doubt I'll even be halfway through it by the time the ship gets back.

 

[LeadHead]

Trip: I'd rather re-align every micro circuit on this shuttle than try to wade through that baby.

 

[Leandar]

Reed: British schools have a core curriculum. It serves to provide a well-rounded education. Sometimes I think you North Americans read nothing but comic books and those ridiculous science fiction novels.

TUCKER: I'll have you know that Superman was laced with metaphor. Subtext layered on subtext.

 

[LeadHead]

Reed: Oh, if only Doctor Cochrane had been a European, the Vulcans would have been far less reticent to help us. But no, he had to be from Montana. He probably spent his nights reading about Cowboys and Indians.

 

[Leandar]

Trip: Well, I don't recall any Europeans figuring out how to build a warp engine.

 

[Vanyel]

Reed: Commander.

Tucker: No Brits, no Italians, no Serbo-Croatians.

 

[Vanyel]

Reed: Commander....I think you better come and take a look at this.

(they are passing an asteroid with a big crash site on it)

TUCKER: Bring us in closer.
