Scrubs

I thought Scrubs was getting 3-4 million on ABC, isn't that... bad? And wouldn't it be even worse with all the leads gone? I love the show and all but yeesh! And I do like the new intern characters but watching a show starring them would just be... vaguely pathetic.

4 to 4.5 million but ABC produce the show and it hits well in certian part of the male demo that ABC are trying to get more of and Scrubs does very very well worldwide + DVD sales. However while that was good enough to get it 8 seasons, please end it after this year because its the planned ending under the original creator.

PS - just watched latest SCRUBS, one of best in recent years I loved it especially Janitor's remote controlled cart :lol:

This is starting to sound like one of those classic 80s/90s spinoff of a hugely popular show starring 1-2 of the bit characters from the original and a bunch of new characters and fails horribly... :p Our lead characters will be Ted and the Janitor! :D

Scrubs: "My Full Moon"

Wow. This is how you do Scrubs. It occurred to me near the end of the episode that there were only two regulars here: Donald Faison and Sarah Chalke. It was certainly produced in an effort to save money. It was full of guest stars and indoor shooting. And you don't have to pay most of your cast!

I think Scrubs is probably dead after this season but there was talk of continuing it. And maybe the creators were thinking the same thing. If they were, this is the pilot. I was of the opinion that they should let it die a graceful death before, but I think if they can hang onto Donald Faison and Sarah Chalke they should do another year.

I'm a pretty huge Scrubs aficionado but this is the first episode I can remember that didn't feature Zach Braff in any way. And it was awesome. His presence was missed, don't get me wrong. But I finally see how you could do Scrubs without him.

Anyway, Elliot's voiceover at the end of the episode had me a litte misty. We always knew she was insecure. But to hear it in a sincere and honest way was nice and I hope they carry that ball to the finale.

I actually found tonight's episode really lacking that essential spirit, and proof that a Scrubs-Intern-Spinoff wouldn't really work. No JD? No Cox? No Carla? No Janitor? No Kelso? It felt so hollow. I like the interns but I can't see them carrying an episode/show all by themselves. And also with no JD there was what a single fantasy sequence?

Turk had a fantasy about bein' a mechanic-like surgeon.

Yeah, if this is the way Scrubs will be after Zach Braff leaves, I'll stop watchin'.

"It smelled like thirty years of oppression. And hot dogs."

Yeah, the ending voice over was really nice. Plus I love Jo even more now, I'm liking Derek, and "barbie-lite" is starting to grow on me.

I really liked this as an Elliot episode. The rest was boring... and to be honest, I'm tired of the codas they tack on to the end of the episodes. It's okay to not let this show be 100% funny all of the time. It could have ended with the voiceover!

See, but what you're asking for with the "no JD, no Cox, no Carla, no Janitor, no Kelso" thing is not a spin-off, but actual, original Scrubs. Which obviously I'm a fan of - but if they did do a spin-off, or even a reformatting of the actual show, it wouldn't make sense to judge it by the same criteria as the original, because it would, be definition, be different. Expect the same quality? Sure. But not the same details.

Scrubs & the recent news about My Name is Earl, is proving a point I made before, that the networks will just not kill a long running show when its time is over, even if the show has to switch networks to continue they will continue (expect ER of course)

I liked the last episode as a one off or so within the series, but in all honesty, I wouldnt watch a whole season with a focus on these interns with no JD or other main characters in it.
