I just looked and Mr. Ring-A-Ding is voiced by Alan Cumming, which fits since I was thinking that seemed like the kind of role they'd get a big name guest star for.
Careful. Draw attentions to parallels like that and RTD will start having conclaves for Doctor castings and we will be waiting for smoke. If this is indeed the last season, I just realized a rather eerie parallel. We've just had Pope Francis die after the second episode of the season aired. Back in 2005, Pope John Paul II died the same day the second episode of the first season aired.
Now that's a twentieth anniversary roundabout thingy. Just wow.If this is indeed the last season, I just realized a rather eerie parallel. Trust the Catholic Church to do a better job of dealing with Doctor Who anniversary’s that RTD has.
That's the height of hubris. Just because people aren't watching this version of DW, doesn't mean people won't come back if it "returns to form"RTD doesn’t sound that confident about a third series stating the doctor has reached a point of a possible hiatus and leaving it to a new generation to reinvent it
To fans who watched RTD's original run as it went out biweekly: was it always like this? Every week some angry fans complaining that "X actor is X actor but not Doctor Who"?
Yuuup. Fandom lost their shit that he was in plain clothes and a leather jacket. They went in prehating. And while some came out still hating, most became big fans of his and were disappointed he left after one series. It started before a single episode aired when people saw what Eccleston was wearing. Which is especially ironic since those same people now venerate him as a "real" Doctor.
"The Doctor does not wear a leather jacket! He is not a vampire like Angel or Spike!" -An actual letter sent into DWMFandom lost their shit that he was in plain clothes and a leather jacket.
