Ranking the TNG Movies

1/ First Contact - Recently saw it. Doesn't hold up as well as I thought it did. The Borg weren't fierce enough. I would have gone for a far more threatening/theatrical version of the Borg. The humor in this film (as in all TNG films) is pretty lame, but the film is still pretty decent and by far the best TNG film.
(4 out of 5 stars)

2/ Generations - Why was Shatner even in this film? A complete, total and utter wasted opportunity. As much as I hate the way they killed Kirk off there are a couple of decent things in the movie, but with the single exception of "The Phantom Menace" this may have been the most I have ever been disappointed in a film. (3 out of 5 stars)

3/ Nemesis - This film is a boring rethread of TWOK. The entire B-4 thing is simply embarrassing. What is nearly as embarrassing is that Picard has a clone that looks noting like him. TNG seemed very, very tired at this point. What a sad way for the great series to end. Memo to tptb: NOBODY WANTS TO SEE DATA SINGING...It's F***ing LAME and insults the audiences intelligence. (2.5 out of 5 stars)

P.S. Lets hope that TNG is somehow given a more dignified ending at some point.

4/ Insurrection - Nothing about this glorified tv movie should be considered a major motion picture. It even looks like a TNG epiosde from the late 1980's. The main villian totally wastes the talents of Oscar winner F. Murray Abraham on a character that would have been more at home in the 70's era BSG...Also, the lame attempts at humor (Memo to tptb: NOBODY WANTS TO SEE DATA, PICARD and WORF SINGING...It's F***ing LAME and it insults the audiences intelligence) nearly had me throwing my shoes at the screen.

Sadly you are correct. This is why ST9 was successful, it practically eliminated all the idiot stuff in the TNG movies, and was closer in spirit to the TOS movies as well as having the look/feel and action of a blockbuster movie (even if some of the plot points still didn't make any sense)
