Picard film in development

It's starting to get as bad as TOS novels in the 90s which kept manufacturing one final mission for the characters set after TUC but before the opening scenes in Generations. Then Shatner's novels had Kirk, Spock. McCoy and eventually Scotty having adventures in the 24th century.
The 90s novels that fit into that gap generally hang together.

First, there's a group of novels that's about a short reprieve for the Enterprise crew from retirement -- beginning with Best Destiny, Sarek is in the middle, and it ends with Shadows on the Sun when the ship returns home. (If Ann Crispin's unpublished and unfinished trilogy with Zar, Spock's son with Zarabeth, had been published, it would have gone in here.)

There's there's a group of novels with them retired and reuniting in various capacities for other missions. Mind Meld is one, the Denny Martin Flinn novel (I'm blanking on the name), and The Last Round-Up. Personally, I put The Ashes of Eden here, too; it's the Shatner novel that fits easiest with non-Shatner novels.

I know that the Generations prologue is supposed to take place in 2293, a few months after Star Trek VI, but I prefer the date of 2295 given in Judith & Garfield Reeves-Stevens' Federation, so there's time for all of this stuff to happen.

Tell us how you really feel!

I just don’t feel itchy to explore these pockets of what already exists. Essentially Khan on CAV is the boring bit that came between Space Seed and TWOK.

I suppose everything could start out fine until the whole planet shifts orbit. Then comes the tirade against the sand.

Honestly speaking, they lost me as an audience member the moment they said ‘audio drama’. That is a medium that doesn’t work for me.

Anyway.

This Picard Movie.

It’s not going to fucking happen is it?

Which is why it is my head canon. ;)

Shows just how little penetration post-TNG Trek has among the general population.

Well, I'm not one of those fans. If they do a "Picard" movie, I won't be seeing. I'm certain many of you will.

Ironically, I narrate audiobooks but dislike listening to audiobooks.

No. And don’t expect anything to happen with Shatner and Mulgrew either. But I don’t feel bad about any of that.
