NX-01 changed in last season

John Kristelli

Did the NX-01 change designs in the last season? Seems to me the saucer section didn't have that flat edge I'm seeing in season 4.

As far as I know, the CG model of NX-01 remained the same throughout the series. They revamped the sets again in S4, painting things blue and adding a carpet.

They switched to filming in 1080 for season 4, so as they sets were largely trashed in season 3, they used the oppertunity to do a lot of remoddling.

When Archer is visiting the "Columbia bridge", it's the NX-01 bridge set during the actual remoddling with work being done to it with them onset. A lot more colour was added, new higher quality screens, new lighting, more room to use the new cameras and ways to swap the NX-01/2 appearance easily.

I've heard they swapped out a lot of the monitors because the plasma screens of the time burned out pretty quickly. So with all the advances in flat screen TVs during filming, the monitors changed.

I was thinking the exterior design changed but it must be my imagination.
