It's only a model. - Patsy, Monty Python and the Holy Grail

The nacelle-glows... but I'm sure you had something like this in mind before Alain even suggested it.

Yes, while I have no prob following technical tips from Alain (subjective artistic opinions I only follow if I agree with them, from anyone), everything he suggested was due to the model still being in modo at that time, and I had said that in the post, including mentioning that all glowy-bits were still yet to be done, in LightWave as well.

I try to keep text down to a minimum in update posts, as I know most peeps don't read text, in lieu of just looking at the pics, and that appears to have been the case, as nothing Alain suggested was not already slotted to happen (and mentioned thusly) once I was in LightWave.

Where's that pesky extreme jaw drop emoticon when I need it? :klingon:

I guess this will have to do for now:

Beautiful. Just beautiful, as always.

Interesting choice with the translucent photon torpedo launch tube (or whatever that round thing with the red glowy center is on the corba head). Was this done to make the angry red glow more prominent from anything other than head-on views of the command section?

This is incredible work, Deg. It has inspired me to start building my nuTrek Klingon ship. :)

Thanks, my friend! And always good to inspire others. I look forward to your nuTrek Klingon ship. ;)

Thanks, TrekkieMonster, and you crack me up. :D

That's a render LightWave post-glow poltergeist thingy-a-ma-bob, nothing intentional, Prof. I thought about workin' it out, and then said, aaa, frak it, wierd crap shows up in real-life all the time, so leave it. Non-perfect odd is good, as it makes it more real that way, IMO. Good eye, eh. ;)

Very nice! I like the cable tension-er thingies for the boom neck. Inspired by a suspension bridge?

Excellent! To me the harsh angles make me think of knives... very Klingon- esque. I like this version better than the FASA one.

All those cables... like guy wires for a radio or TV transmitter. We've never seen a 23rd or 24th Century Klingon ship with cables like that, and I can imagine a few of the Ent 22nd C ships having them. If I could figure out how to do the wires without stretching or bending them I'd try this in a model... "Mr D-7... meet Mr Saw!!".

Beautiful render and can't wait to see it in the calendar.
Whadda mean I gotta wait another year?

Thanks, sojourner! :) I'd have to ask John about that, eh.

Thanks, Michael_One! :)

Ah, good, you got the knives aspect I was goin' for, eh. What is "the FASA one," if I may? (I'm sure I'm heading into a "d'oh!" moment the sec you tell me.)

And actually, this was originally designed by John for the ENT episode, Unexpected. It was built by Koji, but never used as it was rejected for not having enough windows.

Be cool to see a prac of it. I wouldn't think the wires would be too hard to wrangle, eh. Just string 'em like real cables are strung, only smaller gauge.

Beautiful render and can't wait to see it in the calendar.

Thanks, Horizon! :)

And rest easy, there will be other scenography with her from me in the interim, eh. ;)

Nicely done! It's got a great stance, and the lighting and coloring really work well. :bolian:

It sure is great to see John Eaves design come to life. I will be looking forward to the SOTL 2011 calendar. Great work Deg3D.:techman::techman::techman::techman:

An excellent ship, sir! Might there be a chance to see this ship in orbit, facing off against your vision of the TOS Enterprise?
