I can't stand Ishta!

Partly because of the way she was written, but mostly because of Jolene Blalock's "acting", which is undoubtedly among the worst I have EVER SEEN! :scream:

Yeah, going through S8 and just needed to went... Carry on... :alienblush:

Her acting in SG-1 has always bugged me. Very awkward, and she always seemed on the verge of tears. Then I saw ENT, and it was the same thing. At least it wasn't so bad for playing a Vulcan. But yeah, I agree with you.

Yeah, wherever she's in, she's always playing the same character. It had to work somewhere, and luckily it was Star Trek. Everywhere else it just looks and sounds terrible.

Surely sounding like she's on the verge of tears is worse for a supposedly emotionally repressed Vulcan, rather than a Jaffa who's sisters are being killed by fire after birth? I saw her in House as a prostitute, she was decent in that. She played if very differently, anyway.

Sounding like that fit perfectly into ENT S3 where T'Pol has a serious drug problem. In S1&2 she's pretty much a standard unemotional Vulcan, which is not a problem for someone like Blalock, who can't do believable emotions (facial expressions and vocal performance).

I've also seen her in Jason and the Argonauts where she pretty much sucked, and in Slow Burn, where she... Also pretty much sucked. Oh, and in LoTS, where she sucked. :|

She's only in a couple of eps. It's not like she's there all the time. Poor old Christopher Judge had to direct an episode himself before he got any. All those seasons as a monk.

Finally, other people are realizing Jolene Blalock can not act. Ishta was worse than T'Pol.

I like her fine as T'Pol. It's the perfect role for her -- subdued and without a lot of emotional expression. Mostly, she just looks hot.

She's been pretty consistently terrible in everything else I've seen her in, though, including Stargate SG-1. I remember tolerating her first appearance, but by the time she appeared again in season eight, I thought she was pretty awful.

Agreed, and I actually thought her terrible acting worked well for the Telepathic AIDS Arc in later Enterprise, but, many, it seems, thought it didn't work at all.
