The plot holes in Generations were enormous. This movie tried to do WAY too much in the time it was given. If it had an additional hour, such as each part of the Lord of the Rings trilogy, there might have been enough time to address more of the story and fill some more plot holes.
I didn't mind that Kirk died. I liked it, how Kirk "died" on the Enterprise-B. If it was left with that, I would have been satisfied.

The plot holes were just brilliant in Gen....For one Kirk chopping wood for 79 years until Picard meets him.....then you get into the whole how can picard invaded kirks fantasy Nexus life and how can they leave the nexus in the past but not bump into picard already trying to stop Soren who already won the first time round.................yeap its head hurt time..
Or as Scotty put it....

Well.... I had a theory right after I saw GEN that picard never left the nexus...
That would make what we saw after he entered it, and FC and INS and NEM was all picard's life in the nexus... I've never talked about it too much because I figured it was way out there and I'd get laughed at, but it sort of explains all the plot wholes, and why the E-D is blown up in it, yet it exists in the future in All Good Things...

I agree with cardinal biggles, though, that Scotty speaking technobabble is just... wrong.

Actually I think the best part of the borg, as they were introduced in Qwho, was their Zombie like state. They were just an army of these, well, zombies that came after you. You could not talk to them, or negotiate. They are going to get you no matter how far you run.
Once the writers gave them a voice, it was all down hill from there. They just became another typical star trek villian who we can eventually call our friends.
Been there done that with the Klingons. But the borg? Bad move.
Why is it Data sang in three out of four TNG films, anyway?

My problem with Generations comes down to one line. "And from his perspective, he just got here too." So added in post-production to explain things. Her voice changes. Ugh. I can take "assimilate this," and I can take "so you're some kind of astronauts on some kind of star trek," but I cannot sit through "he just got here too."

You think that's bad? The obvious overdub that's always bothered me is Chekov explaining why they have to speak Klingon in a TUC scene because 'a Universal Translator might be recognised'. He's on the screen and it's quite obvious he's not even saying that.
Ahem.
Here's a nice quote from the movie:
"Speak for yourself, sir. I plan to live forever!" - Will Riker, paragon of humility.

-Picard
"That's it! I hate this. It's revolting!"
"More?"
"Please"
-Data and Guinan, I remember it this way, but was Data using contractions? I could be wrong
