Exeter

I dont think they will ever finish TTI any more. It has been too long now.

My guess is that they will make an announcement along these lines later this year.

Having said this I want to make clear that I wont blame the makers of Exeter for such a step. I am sure they have very compelling reasons to stop living this particular dream. The work they have given us already will always be outstanding.

Excuse me, please don't take this the wrong way, but the fact is you don't know these guys from Adam. They took seven years to make Savage Empire. While it's true that they're perfectionsists, they are certainly not quitters, and frankly I think that sort of wild speculation does no one any good.

Sure, but in all fairness, the Exeter folks had information on their web page that would lead (and had led) many to expect Act III in REASONABLY short order. Their web page(s) have given essentially no new info in a full year, and the absence of Jim and Josh from this bbs, which would go a LONG WAY towards settling down the hungry fans, is hard to ignore.

So, sure we don't know these guys, and sure The Savage Empire took seven years, but the difference with TTI is that with this episode they have hordes of people eagerly awaiting the thing, and they have created the expectation that the episode would not take ANOTHER seven years to finish.

Josh posts regularly on the subspace BBS, as do a number of the production team. Jimm also posts occasional updates there. There are actually pretty regular updates, and they do keep in touch with people to let them know what's going on. While you're right that the website is not kept up to date, thirty seconds in Google (or even checking the links on the Exeter site) would demonstrate that the project is far from dead.

From what contact I've had with the Johnsons, I get the distinct impression Jimm doesn't like to jump the gun. Therefore if he can't give a firm answer he won't waste time BSing people. Given the way some people are all over the Exeter team's case, I can't really blame him for keeping quiet. Besides, he has more than enough to keep himself busy these days.

Yeah, I believe UWC Defiance once admitted that it was probably a mistake not to release the episode all at once.

Still, now that they're halfway there, what would you have them rather do? Give up?

Good to hear Dennis. I'm still looking forward to seeing it.

Just don't post in six months that you're 9/10 there. :D

:guffaw:

But I'll bet there are a lot of "younguns" here who have no idea why that's amusing.

And, as for TTI being finished, I have faith. Plus -- having gotten an iPod for Christmas -- I just finished listening to all the Exeter podcasts and, while Jimm doesn't really give anything away in terms of spoilers, it's very clear from everyone that they are working diligently on getting it done and producing the highest quality product possible.

I'm really looking forward to seeing the final product, but -- as much as it's like an eternal Christmas Eve waiting for Santa to arrive -- I'm happy to wait.

Okay, "happy" may be a bit of an overstatement, but you get my drift.

I'll happily wait as long as it takes. The world's biggest problem right now is everybody wants everything NOW. No one seems to be able to wait for anything, and GOD FORBID there be any delays. Everyone has this problem in some form or another, myself included.

It'll be ready when its ready. More than likely, we'll know about it when it is.

Until then, everyone chill.

Well, I'm counting each segment as 20 percent, so when we're 9/10ths of the way there Act Three will have been released and we'll be half-way through the fourth and final act.

And yeah, I'm hoping that won't be six months from now. ;)

I said we're just a "bit shy" of it being done.

I have a pretty good idea of how close we are, but I wouldn't want to say without confirming with Jimm (who's real busy right now).

...Uh but doesn't he have a right to express himself and his beliefs regardless? :wtf:

Sure. I have the right to express my opinions and beliefs about what people I don't know are thinking and doing as well. I have the right to express any uninformed notion or guess that comes into my mind.

And certainly U.S.S. Intrepid is welcome to express his opinions based upon what he knows to be the case.

In any event, nostradamus is as poor a prophet as his namesake (spare me defenses of that old charlatan, please) in this instance. There will be no such "announcement" and the show is being finished.

Yeah, that happens to me a lot nowadays. :D

As for Exeter being finished, as far as I know we're only waiting for SFX. Principal photography has been done for a long time. So there's no reason to think it won't come out.

It certainly is a shame that it's taken so long, though; it's really been amazing so far.

^Thanks ;) though I still see nothing wrong with what the original poster said, his views or comments just like I see nothing wrong with the other guy.
