After TMP, when Gene Roddenberry was removed from direct responsibility for making the movies, he was given a rather ceremonial consultant position. He had no authority, but was contractually guaranteed to be able to read every script draft and offer his comments. And was reportedly paid a rather generous salary as well.
In this role, he was given an "Executive Consultant" credit in all the movies made while he was alive except TUC.
Anyone know why he didn't get that credit on TUC? I know he died before its release, but he was alive for the making of it and had the same role for it as he had for the other films. He read the script drafts, offered many opinions, and even screened the finished film before he died.
So why the lack of credit?
