Nor did I make the claim I was.

Unlike the Mommie Dearest book, no one that I know of has contested these numerous stories that seem to be on the same page with each other.

in your opinion. Want to hear mine? Theory implies individual speculation and hypotheses of unknown information. We know Alexander Hamilton was killed by Aaron Burr and of the words exchanged between the two because of witnesses. To my knowledge, we've yet to hear any first-hand accounts of our first Secretary of the Treasury being kidnapped and beheaded by Napoléon Bonaparte.
Until I start seeing overwhelming, substantial evidence...scratch that...any evidence that Gene Roddenberry
did not strongly recommend his production staff to avoid watching or referencing TOS, and that Rick Berman did not jokingly degrade TOS often behind close doors and throw out Jerome Bixby and his son off the Paramount lot, then I will continue to believe what I hear. Because after all, what am I suppose to do? Ignore everything? Filter my news and only accept the positive? I'm not part of the White House staff of our current administration. And don't get me wrong, I don't believe everything I hear. Those stories told by Therin of Andor and others I take with a grain of salt. They're rumors that only have credence because no one has contested them and they seem to corroborate with other rumors. Emerson Bixby looking me sternly in the eye as if he wanted to punch me while trying his best to professionally recall a painful story made me believe him. If anyone wants to crucify me for giving him the benefit of the doubt, I have only one request. Do it in a manner similar to UWC Defiance. Notice how he hasn't attacked me personally.
And for the record, I don't think Rick Berman dishing out too much TOS fanwank material would have been a good thing. Gene Roddenberry wasn't wrong in thinking that it might have been detrimental. Berman could have put his feelings aside and went back on this after Gene died. Putting in contrived TOS references and guest stars for profitable publicity purposes. And he did on some few occasions. If anyone cares to look at my original post in this thread, I merely state that I ate up what they gave us. Probably because they didn't over feed the original fans. This is partly the reason why season four of ENT was hailed as the best. The only reason some of you are miffed is because I said we all know why they didn't give us much of TOS during modern Trek, and I'm sorry but you all do know why. At least what most of us believe the reason why was. Even if you regard these as fan opinions and pet thories, you're aware of the supposed reasons given...
the only reasons that have been given and backed up by witnesses.
