But to be fair, Kim had three seasons moreMayweather had a couple episodes that focused on his character.
As did Kim. I think Kim had more.
Y'know what? I just realized that "Shuttlepod One" had nothing to do with Mayweather! It was Reed and Trip trapped in the shuttle. Time to go to bed!But to be fair, Kim had three seasons more
Still, Kim had probably unporportionally more episodes dedicated to him than mayweather. I can really only remember "Shuttlepod One" and the two or so final episodes where his ex-girlfriend was spying for someone or whatever.
They weren't used for anything beyond minimal bridge exposition.
That's never been a rule. Characters like Detmer or Ariam are Disco's equivalent to someone like Walter the dialling technician or Sgt. Siler on Stargate.
I actually do like Horizon, as well as season 1's Fortunate Son mostly for the look into the "Boomers" and their lifestyle living on freighters that are also their homes. It's a concept I kind of wish Enterprise had done more with.I don't understand how Mayweather's big family drama episode ("Horizon") is not on every Worst Trek Ever list

In the 23rd Century, people have evolved beyond caring about such things. As an aside, it kinda bothers me that Detmer doesn't grow out her hair to partially cover her implant. I mean, I know the showrunners didn't for rule of cool, but in like 99% of cases if you ended up with a big implant on the side of your head you'd try to hide it with hair, rather than accentuate it by keeping the area shaven.

Yep, plus I'm assuming that from time to time she has to check on her implant and growing hair over it seems a bit impractical. In the 23rd Century, people have evolved beyond caring about such things.
I would imagine they destroyed the hair follicles in the area surrounding the implant as well. At that point, you might as well define the look yourself and be comfortable with it. She certainly has no reason to be ashamed of the implant.Yep, plus I'm assuming that from time to time she has to check on her implant and growing hair over it seems a bit impractical.
I pity the fool who doesn't respect the rule of cool!As an aside, it kinda bothers me that Detmer doesn't grow out her hair to partially cover her implant. How?! Just how?!She looks like the live action version of Stewie Griffin from Family Guy... :/
How?! Just how?!
It's probably best they didn't go with the shaved head, and settled for giving her the SJW haircut.
