Darkest Simpsons Moment?

There's a recent one where Lisa tells Bart not to tell the police that he had killed Martin by pushing him off a cliff because she's an accomplice to the murder (because she wasn't able to save him). Funny thing is that Wiggum wonders if Martin's shirt will fit Ralph after a cougar coughs it up. I don't remember if he lives though, but I'm guessing he does.

He returned at the last moment.

from the preview for sunday's ep

*sideshow bob tosses bart in a coffin and pushes it twards the cremation chamber, homer walks in*

Homer- *sniff, sniff* What smells so good

and another sideshow bob one now that i think of it

at the end of one EP chief wiggum meets the simpsons at a restauraunt and it is clear he, Lou and Ed are gonna execute Bob after dinner, Quote from Bob "shouldn't I have a lawyer, or a TRIAL first?" Wiggun-"Shut up you"

^ Going along with that. The episode where Bart bought another horse and it became a race horse. Homer was threatened by the Jockeys - which were gremlins or hobgoblins.

I don't really like the jokes about Homer abusing Bart. Like in the movie where Ned tries to pat Bart on the back and Bart flinches because he expects to get hit. That's just nasty. Homer has turned into a pretty cruel person.

You can map his progerssion: Bumbling guy with a heart, Moron with a heart, Moron without a heart, Cruel bastard.

Homer's been abusing Bart since day one.

Yeah, but it was so cartoonish that they kinda pulled it off at the beginning, with the trademark choking. Plus, in those days, Bart was such a hooligan that he usually at least kinda deserved it. But now, I agree, things are a little too dark. I think it was in the episode where Homer was running for head of the dept. of sanitation that Homer essentially admitted to actually beating Bart. It used to be that Homer would find a way to redeem himself at the end of the episode. Now they just don't seem to give a crap about that anymore. Thus, it's difficult for me to continue giving a crap about Homer.

I remember the episode where homer was injured and decided to start a nursery. Bart and Lisa showed a clip where Homer was chasing Bart on the streets with a mace. There was another one where Homer bought teleporting machines from Proffesor Frink and he tries to kill Bart with an Axe. What an asshole Homer is now days.

^ I believe that the mace was the same shot just spliced in for both episodes.

The mace episode was a clip where he was chasing bart in the street. The axe incident was after Bart became human after being a manfly. There were different.

From the simpsons Game
Lisa-"I thought the only simpsons game was where we pretended dad wasn't drunk"

unless Homer gets a reboot, and soon, than Homer is just gonna further devolve and eventually it's gonna cause the death of the show

I would say one of the darkest moments was two (I think two) years ago in the Christmas episode. In it Moe tries to kill himself in a variety of ways. One of his attempts was sledding down a hill into ongoing traffic. I actually had a friend in middle school who died (accidentally) the same way. It was really and dark, to me personally, to see them do that.

Yeah, its become a bit of a recurring theme with Moe trying to kill himself during the holidays. In one episode he had his head stuck in an oven with a piece of paper reading 'no funeral' taped to his back. That was pretty dark.

But at the end he decided not to, and brought food to the Simpsons' Christmas dinner with Gary Coleman.
