Memory-Alpha says it generated an "electromagnetic subspace waveform"
That isn't in the actual shows that I recall. As posted above, Sarek tells Burnham there's a "new star in the sky".

It was. Some no name officer on the ship notes it sent a subspace signal along with the bright light.I didn't think the Beacon of Kahless was actually explained?
We have no evidence yet from this trailer that the red anomalies are actually visible from Federation space.
Same place the Guardian of Forever, the Genesis Device and the Whale Probe were in the TNG era.

Ugh...I don't feel confident about this season now.
1. The "end of all sentient life in the galaxy" line shows they're needlessly upping the stakes again. It's a prequel - we know the worst-case isn't going to happen. And upping the stakes through the "almost destruction" of all life in the multiverse and the "almost bombardment" of Earth did nothing for Season 1. THIS ISN'T A MOVIE - IT'S TV. TREAT IT LIKE A TV SHOW!
2. Georgiou openly talking about Section 31 - and Pike, Burnham, and Tyler knowing about it - brazenly conflicts with what Trek has said about the organization in the past.
Stop brining up the novels, they don't matter one bit here. Not a fan of this Section 31 inclusion. Seems unnecessary. Control wouldn’t be this sloppy.
Yes, TNG's "Best of Both Worlds" (Borg want to Assimilate Earth) was one of the most unpopular TNG episodes in franchise history..oh, wait.

In the non canon novels they do operate like that. Going underground for a certain time and reappearing when a new threat emerges.Maybe 31 is driven underground by their excesses in this story so that by DS9, they’re just a rumour.

I had hopes they were gonna cut out the middleman this time and give us a premise that didn't really have stakes outside of what it meant to the characters involved. Oh well.
I see season two will still be The Michael Burnham show since her head is bigger than everyone else’s on the poster, including trek legends like Spock and Pike.
Yes, TNG's "Best of Both Worlds" (Borg want to Assimilate Earth) was one of the most unpopular TNG episodes in franchise history..oh, wait.
And DS9's whole Dominion War story (Changelings and their allies want to conquer and subjugate the entire Alpha Quadrant and te Federation) made DS9 one of the most reviled Star Trek franchise series in Star Trek media history...again...oh, wait. <--- That went on for nearly 3 seasons AFTER Worf was added in DS9 S4 and the Klingon made 'enemies' of the Federation again until near the end of S5.
IDK - It just seems people are trying (yet again) to find something to complain about because somehow the setup isn't some old man sitting at a conference table extolling the virtues of some Federation policy or the Federations love of exploration surrounded by like minded officers all agreeing with him.
How horrible they want to tell a sweeping story with a mix of action, adventure, and perhaps some contemplation here and there - the HORROR!
Sonequa Martin-Green is the star of the show. It makes sense that she is the featured character on a poster.
