Amazing series with rubbish pilots

"The Office" I am talking about the American version. They stole to many jokes from the British version. It got better once it became it's own thing.

Jason
Do both pilots (American and British) use the same script? Am I remembering that correctly?

They localized some of the terminology. Like "He was rubbish" got replaced with "He sucked". But it was basically the same.

BSG: 2004 had an AWFUL miniseries pilot. I later would give the TV show it greenlighted a chance and, wow, the TV series (seasons 1 and 2, certainly) were far better than the mini.

I'm kind of shocked that someone would dislike the BSG mini-series. I know some didn't like the show or the later seasons but never head anyone until now who disliked the mini-series.

I thought that the Battlestar Galactica miniseries kinda hit things on the head a bit too much. Like, Apollo is ANGSTY, Starbuck is a SCREWUP, Col. Tigh is a DRUNK! I thought the regular series toned it down better, though I ended up never finishing the series because I was still painfully aware of how much I disliked most of the characters, especially Starbuck & Laura Roslin. In the end, the only ones that I still liked were Baltar (who I realize I'm probably not supposed to like but he seems to be the only character actually aware of how screwed up he is), Sam Anders (meh), Tom Zarek (not on enough to matter), and Col. Tigh (who really redeemed himself with me after the New Caprica arc).

Baltar wasn't really a hero or a villain, he was more a self interested conman. He was the Saul Goodman of the show.

I never stopped liking the BSG characters, and miniseries was good and beginning of series was great. Problem with BSG is after the New Caprica arc they didn't know where they are going so they kind of rambled around in high concept hell.

But BSG doesn't fit in this topic. The base story is great, just after they lost their direction the series became rubbish.

Moon blown away from the Earth and visiting new planets each week- sounds REALLY dumb.
And I loved every single minute of the first series. (and a couple of the second)
