10 O'clock live

Generally, the only part of this show I consistently enjoyed was the part presented by David Mitchell. His rant, and the times he presented the mini debate.
Jimmy Carr I don't find funny at the best of times, and Lauren Laverne was completely superfluous. Charlie Brooker also was hardly given anything good to do and I got the impression he was a last minute addition.

Personally I thought David Mitchell and Charlie Brooker were what made the show, Lauren Laverne has some top stuff as well but was misused a lot. I mean the self service NHS bit and the library bits were brilliant. I like Jimmy Carr but like Lauren his bits were hit and miss. But overall I loved the show and can't wait for more of it.

That's mostly what I thought of it.

David Mitchell is always good.

This introduced me to Charlie, and that's a good thing you twat.

Jimmy Carr is hit or miss.

And Lauren got better as the series went on, but she's the first I'd drop if given a choice.

Well Lauren is the only one who isn't a comedian, so I think that makes her the easy choice really, the others can come out with funny stuff on the spot whereas her stuff is scripted. For a live show I think that makes her the odd one out.

I just watched the first episode from last series. Made me laugh and put me in the mood for tonight's episode.

I'd have warmed to this show more, if they hadn't removed the Daily Show from More4 at the same time - I've heard reports that the two were connected...

I might give it a look though, it wasn't all bad!

It was the rights fees, they went up, supposedly because Comedy Central wanted them back but they never did anything with them.

Ah right, I'll lay off 10 o'clock live for that then! Was still irritating though! Was the only thing watchable on More4!

Well don't lay off More4. They said they were going to use the rights money on better shows, now they're rebranding as a crap..er channel.

I will never lay off More4! Why on earth we need a Location Location Location channel still escapes me :(

The presenters seemed a bit rusty, which is understandable as it has been almost a year since the previous series ended, but I like that they've more firmly anchored the show around the desk. It feels more like a group effort and less of a random hodgepodge of ideas.

Yeah, it did seem a bit rusty, a few slip ups in what they were saying. I missed Listen to Mitchell, and Jimmy Carr used the same joke twice, about she might as well go back to being Liz Windsor, and in a situation where it didn't work well. But I still enjoyed it for the most part.

I didn't really enjoy it at all, all the things I liked last time seemed to be gone, and replaced by lots of cynical whinging about things they don't apparantly know much about.

Can understand that. I think Charlie Brooker was supposed to do the football thing but they changed it, cos I saw him tweet a moan about having to do a football thing. But seems to be gone now.
I missed Listen to Mitchell, I didn't mind Lauren's Banker Bashing bit. But it did all seem a little ill-prepared.

I liked the fact they included more of them just talking, because that's where these personalities really shine. I take issue with the apallaing "sketches" they did though. That Putin one? Good grief. It was like bad SNL, and I've never watched SNL.

And Lauren Laverne? Yeah, she's hot. But for the two people who are reading this who watch Community, do you agree with me when I say she IS Britta Perry, completely, in terms of looks/attitude/opinions to the extent that she's Britta'ing the show? I'd rather her play ringmaster to the boys, which she kind of is, but giving her those awkward bits to herself really kills the show flat (not that it has much momentum anyway).

The first episode seemed a bit less brave than the last series. Sadly very pro-Royal family apart from Charlie Brooker. Still good though...
