I hope he is in half the screentime of next season. Because the outrage over the character who makes up 1/2 the reason Star Trek even exists appearing is ridiculous.
You can also go watch Spock anytime you like. You don't need SNW for that.
If you can handle Spock being here, you can handle Kirk.
Or don't? He'll be there, and he has more of a right to be there than any character other than Spock.

Because, in my opinion, having waited for 30 years for the Pike series having Kirk show up because "He's Kirk, duh!" is a rather specious argument. I was frustrated by Kirk's appearance and am even more frustrated by the fact that the attitude appears to be that more Kirk is better.
Probably because Spock has an established history with Pike. It makes sense to fill out that history.
You want Kirk? Well, I have no doubt we will get more Kirk, but at least let me, one single Pike fan, enjoy Pike for a moment.
James T. Kirk is my favorite fictional character, pretty much ever. And I don't need him crammed into SNW. On TV, in comics, in novels and video games I've seen the character for the last 46 years. I'm okay with others getting the spotlight. Heck, I would've rather had another season of Hemmer than Kirk.
Regardless of the cause, it would even today be considered an inhumane sentence. Even serial killers, rapists, etc are allowed visitors.
It's more than a plot device. It's why Pike is so strongly against her being arrested. He knows the severity of the sentence. It's an indicator that something isn't right about her sentence and what Starfleet is doing. My guess is S31. You might want to switch to decaf! Dial it down a bit. Seems like an odd thing to get worked up over.
This is SNW, not TOS. I love TOS. But the focus should remain on the SNW characters because it is their show. Canonically, that includes Spock. More importantly, this is Pike's time to shine.
